In Germany, you would find them outside of someone's house on a residential block.  People would buy into the 'franchise' and have them on their front lawn.

My paternal pawpaw had one of these in his barber shop.

That's another thing you don't see anymore. Or you don't see a lot of, the men's barber shop.

They had a different feel, a different smell.

True, this is the only one I know of. And this guy has had this barber shop for at least 30 years, probably more, but I wasn't around then.  My dad used to go there, but once he started traveling for work, it wasn't a good option.  Saturday mornings, he could sit and wait for over an hour to get his hair cut. Since he's only home on weekends, he just doesn't have that time to waste and can't go any other time. Now he goes to the salon and gets his hair cut by the same girl I do. She just loves him, apparently my dad is a bit of a charmer lol

We got Bunny one of those new sit and spins. It was a flimsy piece of junk! And tiny! He didn't really fit on it even when he was  only 2.  It never did work right for him. It was disappointing.

That's sad. They kids had one in the 90s. They loved it. I had to take it away from them cause they would make themselves sick on it.

Rose Milk lotion.
Creepy crawlers.
Box record players.
Polaroids.
String art kits.
Max Factor makeup in the stores.
TVs with dials.
Rolodex.

I have a milk man and he delivers eggs and bread. I still have cassette tapes and a player. I think I still have my typewriter. I used it to take the bar exam 9 or so years ago. There were about 10 of us who typed. 90% of the others taking it used laptops.

I bought one for the kids a year or two ago but instead of using pins, they use this doughy adhesive which doesn't work and just frustrates the kids.

I have one at my desk that I use almost every day!  My nieces came in a few weeks ago and I was typing on it and they asked me what it was.  I showed them how to use it and my 6 year old niece said she wanted one for Christmas LOL!

I'm not sure if this store was a chain or not or if it's still in existence. I miss Dollar Dazzle. Everything was $1 and they had the neatest claw clips and scrunchies. They also had a bottle of vanilla-scented fragrance that was just yummy.
