My original original name--back in 04-- was Elsa of Nottingham. It was based off of a play I was in at the time. I loved the character. I mostly hung around the Mens Health section of MSN. It was literally all gay men, plus one other woman, Gypsy something, I think. (I was super excited to see burns on GT because I thought he was a member I was very fond of, burnsUncut07, but no. It was a sad moment. Not that burns isn't great.)
I changed it to DragonQueenElsa when I was both the Queen of England, and a rampaging dragon in a later play. I had that for a while, then I started getting harassed and bullied a bit. This was after they shut down the mens health part, and reconfigured the site. I couldn't find my friends again, and found the MM board a totally different ball game. I have to say, 90% of how I feel about gays dates back to the welcome I got in the mens health, and the easy friendship I found there. The mm boards were a total shock. I had NO idea how catty and snide people could be in the internet until then. One poster in particular (who I was sad to see later graduated to GT) would follow me from post to post and attack EVERYTHING I said. It was insane. Anywaaaaaaaaaays. . ..
I changed it to Dona Policia after a nickname I got from refusing to allow people to ride in my car without wearing a seatbelt. Oddly, people who attacked and mocked DragonQueenElsa were welcoming and lovely to Dona Policia. What is in a name, indeed.
When I moved to GT, I had trouble signing up, so PBJ said he would set up an account. He asked if I wanted the same name, I said no, pick a different one, but it has to have Dona. He gave me this one, and I love it!

Aergia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aergia (Greek: Ἀεργία, "inactivity")[1] is a goddess in Greek mythology, a personification of sloth and laziness. She is the daughter of Aether and Gaia. She is said to guard the court of Hypnos in the Underworld.[2]

Aergia is the transliteration of the Latin Socordia, or Ignavia. She was transliterated to Greek because Hyginus mentioned her based on a Greek source, and thus can be considered as both a Greek and Roman goddess. Her opposite character is Horme, a goddess of effort.[3]

Not Greek, but the first of the Greek deities I could identify with.

NO one is ever invited to my house no one...except Scottish Lass (blast from the past)

Not really, ed. I know the story dates back to the 30's. It had to do with the basketball team. I'll try to find it.

When I initially discovered the MSN boards, I posted on marriage and couplehood asking for advice on my situation. I was the "new" wife to my husband and my MIL kept in touch with the sister of my husband's ex-wife, which made me a little uncomfortable. The advice I received made me feel better about my situation and was very helpful.

Bored at my old job, I wandered over to the dating heaven and hell board and would post advice there. The singles over there felt intimidated and thought I was mocking them because of my screen name, "new_wife." So I decided to change my name, and had the members of DHH take a vote. FNW won out. It is short for formerly new_wife.

You've been causing trouble for a LONG time...

I also lurked on the Health threads, including one on Depression. There was one poster who was bipolar & had 2 kids. She wrote the most heart-breaking posts. She had another baby & let her brother (I think) adopt him.

Well I think everyone from MM knows my story.

Mine started out as lilyvonshtoop. After the Madeline Kahn character Lily VonShtup from Blazzing Saddles.

When the mess started over there my screen name got banded cause it was too close to swearing I guess, so I changed my screen name and then they imposed a posting limit for new posters and I just kept using forms of the same name so I wouldn't confuse anyone.

lilyofcourse stuck.

It became down right comical.

My License plate sais Schtupp (I added the C and P because people thought I was saying shut up)  and the Car's name is Lily.

So far only my husband grasps what Schtupp means....but we lived in Germany.

Blazing Saddles is one of my most favorite movies.

Back in 1998 I got my first AOL account. I literally opened up the dictionary to a random page and pointed to a random word.

Illumine. - to illuminate.

Only problem was, someone else had the iLLumine name, so I dropped one 'L'.

I've had this moniker since I signed up for an intranet account way back in early interweb days (anyone remember Prodigy?). It's my maiden name initials, what I collected at the time (not anymore) and the year I was born. I've always been JLBear71. I have a few other ones but this is the one I have always come back to.
