I have an interview! It is with 4 people, 3 of whom I know through my volunteer work in a professional society, one of which I used to supervise. I am so excited. This particular position gets me back into the technical side of my experience and skills, plus there is room for growth. They wanted to do a phone interview today and then come in next week for an in person interview, but decided to scrap the phone interview. I take that as a good sign.

So that is the issue, nailing the interview. I have been studying up on manufacturing processes' and cost accounting. Its my forte but haven't been doing that for the past 2 years. If I nail the interview, pretty sure the offer is in the bag. Fingers crossed. Now I need to let my company know. they get that a lot of us need to be on the job hunt, so not a huge issue, but I have been with them for 17+ years. I will cry.

I know I shouldn't have a favorite school, but I do! This afternoon the teacher who arranges my visits came to the library to check with me about something. She saw that my boss was in her office and stepped in to tell her how much the kids all love me. Totally spontaneous...and I was so touched.

If you've ever, EVER suffered from a stye, you'll know why I'm posting this on the happy thread. It's FINALLY getting better after three days of absolute misery...

No makeup, I can live with. Big, red, puffy eyelid? I don't really care - you don't like it, don't look. But suffering from pain every, single time I blink? Have you ever tried to work on a computer all day and not blink? What an awful three days in that respect.

Oh ouch! I finally gave up on wearing contacts, because I got styes so often.

That solved my problem. I might get one a year, now.

I'm sorry your suffering, Honeys. I'm glad it's finally on the mend!

Been there! At the end, mine starting "moving" and finally woosh, all the puss oozed out. It was gross and wonderful at the same time.

We had a cookout last night. New York Strips, and Salmon, and the grill. Yum!

After dinner, I was sitting on the patio, with Conor and Jessi. Mere was out there with us, too.

Jessi started talking about weddings, and how she was beginning to think March, would be a nice time to get married.

But, it was kind of hard to plan, since she and Conor weren't officially engaged yet.

What's holding up the show? confuse

Well, with buying a house, money is tight. No ring.

I said, my engagement ring has been sitting in my jewelry box for almost ten years. It doesn't fit anymore. You kids are welcome to it.

Stunned shock, would describe the looks on their faces. wink

Well, I got the ring out. Jessi loved it! It fits her finger perfectly!

I said, hey, have the setting melted down, design your own. Use the diamond. Do what you want with it. smile

The ring has good karma. smile

About this time, Wayne and Paul popped out on the patio, to say good-bye. Wayne was going to run Paul back up to UNT.

And I said, "Honey, I just offered my engagement ring to Conor and Jessi. Your okay with that, right?

Wayne said, "Sure! That's great!"

So, off they went. Dinner, and a diamond. biggrin They are going to figure out if they want to have a new setting made. Or just add a couple of small diamonds on either side of mine.

But, they have something to work with. Which makes me happy.

It was a very good night. smile

My happy? Doctor prescribed some pricy but effective eye drops and my eye looks/feels much better already. What an awful experience. This morning when I woke up the swelling had gone under my eye and it was scary.

Thanks everyone. It's so strange. I can't believe how much my skill set is valued. I was really stressing over this job search. It's such a great feeling to be recognized for my talents. I just feel so elated! Love my company, but they can offer not better than what I have now.
