My parents had serious tree damage from the nor'easter, and guess who has to clean it up? My poor hubby will spend most of this weekend with my brother-in-law with the chainsaw cleaning up the huge tree branches that came down. I shouldn't even call them branches. They look like whole trees, 12 to 16 inches around per branch.

And he will try to appease my parents' next door neighbor, because a huge branch fell on his garage. Not the first time. This poor neighbor has dealt with too many headaches and too much property damage because of my parents' out of control trees.

My parents have been neglectful as homeowners for many years, even before they became physically unable.

I'm ticked. And it doesn't really matter that my mother is in rehab from a knee replacement. I'm going to call their insurance company, and call a tree guy, and then my mother is going to sign the checks for the tree guy. They have the money. Enough enabling! They are going to take financial responsibility this time. And I'm going to have the tree guy trim back all the other dead branches on the other trees. On my parents' dime, not ours.

The one thing I really like about insomnia is that I get my house clean.

Well, everything except the vacuuming, that is.

I've already cleaned both bathrooms and mostly finished the dusting.

Gotta look at the upside!

I'm trying to decide today if I am going to back out of plans tomorrow. A few months ago a few friends and I decided to go to a comedy show. I even helped buy one of their tickets because a friend couldn't afford to go. But I seriously underestimated how draining this point in pregnancy would feel. I am trying not to spend every day moping around the house, and I really enjoy being with these girls, but the thought of going out is exhaustingly overwhelming. I am going to commit one way another today so I don't leave anyone hanging tomorrow and in case they have someone who wanted to go and couldn't get a ticket.

Good decision on the trees Blankie. Hopefully you won't have to deal with it again once it is taken care of properly. The neighbors will thank you.

Squeaks, at this point in the pregnancy, it is hard to make plans because you have to take things day by day.  Don't feel bad if you have to cancel out.

I wish I had your motivation, Blankie. I ended up watching tennis for the rest of the night. I never did fall back to sleep, but I rested.

Sometimes, that's the best you can do.

Good luck with the tree guy! Mine is a real gem. I wish I could send him your way to help with the clean up.

Have a good day at work, flan.

Squeakers, if you're not up to going tonight, don't feel bad. Your friends will understand.

Hi IKWTDS! I hope you have a nice Saturday.

I'll be watching football today.

I know the kids will be down at some point to do laundry. We might get some mulch for the front flower beds at Conor's house. Or, maybe that can wait till tomorrow.

We'll see.wink

I will be finishing my Halloween costume for tonight - I hope. I've got two more pieces to put on the top part, then the skirt and apron to do. I'm thinking the skirt should be pretty easy, lots of long cuts and straight seams. I was up until almost 1 working on it last night.

Oh, and my ex has been emailing me again. That man really needs to get a life

Wow! I am glad I don't have to deal with insomnia! Hope you insomniac's can get a nap in today.
Good plan, Blankie. You shouldn't have to pay for your parents poor choices on their tree issue, especially when they can afford the cleanup and repairs for the neighbor. Sorry you have to deal with the mess.
Squeakers, just take it one day at a time. Don't push yourself to go if you really don't want to go.
DG, FWM is right, put him in the junk mail and block his IP address.
SB, we will be looking forward to all your vaca pictures!
IKWTDS, is everything back to normal at your house?
Tig, hope you have a great day!
Flan, do you work today?
FWM, hope you have a nice relaxing day, you have earned it.
DD and I get to watch football all by ourselves today. Oldest DD and her family are going to a trunk or treat party with all the kids today. So, they won't be here for the game. Besides, the game starts at 11:00. DH has to work, so he won't be around either.
Plan on going out to a friends after the game and pulling beets. DH wants butter beats this year. So, my canning days are not over quite yet. My poor canner is getting quite the work out this year. May have to bit the bullet and buy a new one.
The weather is absolutely beautiful here! Gorgeous warm sunny days with gentle breezes. The colors are awesome too!

Two weekends ago he hurt it playing softball. It was pretty bad, but it was getting better. Then yesterday baby boy crawled all over him and I think it finally put it over the edge. I'm getting him crutches today. He goes to the doctor on Monday. He think it's his knee cap.

Woke up at 5 am to the sound of gunshots - hunters in the woods. Urgh.

Tried to get my tires yesterday, they have to special order them (one of the problems of living in a small town) and I won't be able to get them until Monday at noon. So I am hauling DH around so I can have his car.

My puppy just discovered his, um, manhood and he is humping DH's arm and DD's giant stuffed panda bear like a total perv. Time to get him snipped.

I can relate to the bolded in a first-hand, personal manner because of depression.  My personal experience has taught me not to push through and go anyway - I've learned I'm better off going with my feelings.

Whatever you do, do what YOU want to do and be kind and gentle to yourself.

MM, my little Honey is an alpha female which causes this behavior in her as well.  It's not so much sexual behavior but more about an urge to dominate.  Yep, your little sweetie is actually trying to dominate you!

Long ago I gave Honey my large stuffed bear for this very purpose (I call it her b*tch bear, LOL).  Needless to say, she thoroughly enjoys dominating her bear and I simply put it away when company comes...biggrin

Morning!

Just me and the boys here. Everyone else has places to go and people to see. I may go back to bed for a bit cause I am still not 100%. Sinus crap. Makes a person feel like dirt.

Go to the show. Go out when ever you get a chance now cause when the baby comes it will seriously curtail getting out for at least a few months.

The tree thing is crazy annoying Blankie. I don't blame you. Get it taken care of and move on.

Bonny if his knee was broke you would know it. He wouldn't be able to sit still. There are too many tendons and ligaments in the knee.

Batman is one. The one with the Penguin. I really like Batman.

Czech, household is returning to normal. I know DD would have liked it to work out but she saw the issues. I've started cleaning the spare bedroom. There are stains on the carpet and other issues which somewhat made me mad but in retrospect, it could have been worse. My rugs are overdue for a cleaning anyway so plan having that done soon. Nice thing is I get the spare closet back so have been putting items I crammed into my closet back into the spare one. Really this weekend is all about the final cleanup.

This explains a lot. Puppy knows I am the pack leader, but DH is all fun and games. Puppy gets to play and DH spoils him rotten. I have been telling him for weeks that he needs to start being tougher.  Thanks for the "I told you so" ammo! Lol

Yeah your DH needs to smarted up, the behavior is cute now while it's a puppy but it will NOT be cute when you have a full grown dog on your hands, not to mention this is a door being opened up for aggressive behavior.

And DO NOT let him treat your DD's stuff like it's his own to dominate!!! Everyone in the house should be above the puppy including the kids.
