Get him a Kong, MM. Put a bit of peanut butter in it. Or, some cream cheese.

Kong's will hold up.

Jupiter also likes Nylabones.

It takes her a while, to break them down.

We got him the splash balls.

It's a solid piece so even if he did tear the cover he wouldn't be eating that fluff stuff.

And baby toys. They seem to be better made.

And he loves an empty water bottle slightly squished.

 DG told me this when we got our dogs.  Yep.  Worth every penny.  We have a couple of ones that you fill with treats.  They do get used to them and love them.  We USED to buy the stuffed toys for our dogs.  And they chewed them up in a day also.  At first we didn't care.  Until we found fluffy piles of poop.  To avoid a huge vet bill we stopped buying them.  Better safe than sorry.

I feel your pain, Mellow Momma.

We have a golden lab who destroys all the standard toys. Average time is about 3 days.

Forget the ones filled with poly-fill. Your house will always look like a snowstorm with those.

We started making our own dog toys, after spending a small fortune on the store-bought ones.

Homemade sock toys: I take a sock and stuff two more socks inside it, then knot it a few times. You can also put a squeaker in, from another toy that your dog already destroyed.

Homemade rope toys: Take three lengths of clothesline or other heavy-ish rope, about two feet long each. Braid them together and put a double knot at each end. Great for tug-of-war.

And a few bits of kibble in a clear unlidded strong plastic jar will keep the dog occupied a little while.

We have a Kong, he sometimes plays with it, sometimes he ignores it totally.

He gets plenty of treats as we are training him to follow commands (sit, stay, drop it, etc) so I don't really want to do the treat toys until we are past the training stage. Otherwise he will end up a chunky monkey.

I have seen the Nylabones, I will give those a shot. I will look for the antlers as well.

 Ice cubes are good alternative treats, if your doggie likes them. No calories, and they clean the teeth. Or for variety and a few calories, you can freeze chicken broth into cubes. My doggie loves those.

Oh, I forgot, we swear by the antler bones. Those are the only store-bought toy we'll get. Expensive, but our doggie will get about 2 months out of one. And very good for the teeth.

I buy the small tennis balls too. I even bought the expensive Kong tennis balls. Silly dog chews the felt right off of them. Last week he had a fuzzy green turd - all tennis ball fluff.

I know he is a terrier and it's in his makeup to rip stuff apart, so I want to let him have an outlet for that. You can't fight nature! I just want it to be cleaner, last longer than a few hours, not wreck my house, and not make his poop stringy and fuzzy green! Lol
