Back to work today, feeling somewhat better. Have to bring my little entourage of tissues, teabags, honey, Airborne, cold medicine, lozenges, lotion to keep the nose from chapping, hand sanitizer to apply every 10 minutes, yada yada yada. High maintenance.

But enough of that - it's a beautiful day, and I am embracing the positive today. Bring it on!

Good morning. I am up. Have been since J's alarm went off at 6. J is still asleep. Slept right through it. I don't know why he has it other than to make sure I am awake at 6 every morning.

But I am up. And it is a bit on the nippy side this morning. 46 out there.

C is going back to high school today so I don't have to take or pick up the boys. She is going to help the drama dept. do their Halloween stage makeup classes. She will be applying scars, burns, stitches and any other icky thing you can think of.

I dreamed that I had really heavy ear rings on an this morning my ears feel like I have. It's weird.

Blankie, I am glad to hear you are a little better. Continue to take care of yourself.
Flan, take lots of snacks.
IKWTDS, I don't think you can have too many boots. A pair a day seems about right.
NJN, I don't blame you for not wanting to leave the house. Have a restful day.

Last day in Florida. We are going to dad's condo for the big family dinner tonight. His wife always makes a huge Italian meal. Not much else planned today. We are attempting to leave around 6 tomorrow so we miss the morning rush in Ft. Lauderdale. Had some good times but it was a stressful week. Dog had a bad time the first few days and my pet sitter / house sitter had issues. DD and I decided we won't travel at the same time for a while to avoid this again.

Say= making conversation.

Tell= giving instruction.

Not very helpful.

English is a hard language.

I did a little googling. They are synonyms, but there is a subtle difference.

Tell is used only to instruct and inform. Don't use it for quotes.

Say is used for exact quotes, and to express opinions.

Of course my mother the English teacher could probably provide an essay on the difference, but I won't go there.

There is so much nuance in the English language. I really feel for your ESL friend.

Thanks for asking about my dog, FWM. The oldest dog takes a carprofen pill every day to help with her torn ACL. I gave Wolf one with his dinner & it seemed to help.

Since he is a longhair, he frequently gets mats from playing outside, especially when the yard is full of dirt & mud. I'm having him groomed tomorrow. His hair could possibly have gotten him stuck in the fence (a paw, maybe?)

Hemi runs to the door to greet the kids. He's fine. Layla barks but this will be our third Halloween with her. In the past she is agitated in the beginning but then settles down. This year we added Carlee to the mix. DN is coming over to help so maybe it won't be so bad.

That's true! And I just placed my last online order so I am officially done with my SS shopping. I'm sure I'll see more things before I actually send it but the big stuff is bought.

I even found a gift for my cheap azz MIL. A nice one too. That didn't cost an arm and a leg.
