Man accused of approaching 2 Huntington teens

Police say 23-year-old Jake Giffuni approached two sisters, ages 13 and 15, who were waiting for a school bus on East Pulaski Road in Huntington.

If he had NOT been driving drunk, would he have broken a law by offering these girls a ride to school?

He was arrested for DWI and endangering the welfare of a child.

I'm curious, because I don't drink, and I might sometime offer a stranger a ride.  Okay, I never have, but I don't see how that -- all by itself -- is illegal.

When I was a teenager I don't think it would have been as much of a big deal but we didn't get into cars with strangers.

When my parents were teens they didn't think anything about it.

Now a days everyone is suspect.
