I finished Season 2 of Orphan Black. I just started Drop Dead Diva.

I am listening to Doctor Sleep, by Stephen King. It's read by Will Patton & he does an excellent job. There are 15 CD's, and I'm on #13.

I'm in between books at the moment.

I'm about to read the new John Grisham book.

I'm on Season 9 of Criminal Minds.

We are watching Once upon a time. Oh, crap! We forgot to watch last night. Grrr.

I need to get caught up. I lost track, so now watch it on DVD.

It's been a long time since I read a Grisham book. I always liked his novels.

I am reading Fat Tuesday by Sandra Brown. Unfortunately once I got into the book I realized I've already read it. I hate when I do that. I don't remember the ending so far so that's good.

I'm watching all kinds of things now that the fall season is underway. CSI, Walking Dead, Castle, all 3 NCIS shows, Chicago Fire & PD, Bones, Criminal Minds, Stalker, Gracepoint, Scorpion, Hawaii 5-0
I think that covers it.

I only listen to the radio in the car. Sometimes I'll tune the tv to a music channel but not as often as I used.

I'm also watching Oz on DVD. It was on sale at Walmart and since I don't have cable I need something to watch when I'm using my computer for school stuff. Also while I am crocheting cute little baby caps for my friend's newborn and her toddler!

I am watching Gilmore Girls. I'm not reading much of anything right now. It's just hard to find time to read. I just bought Taylor Swift's new CD, so I will be listening to that later today.

I have a 30-minute commute, which is one of the more pleasant drives I've had. It's half highway, and half a 4-lane road. I have listened to some fantastic books!

I just ordered aergia's book so hopefully I can get that soon. I watched the new Godzilla last night, it was eh.

Lexxy I am such a re-reader, I've read all my books a half a dozen times (except Harry Potter, I've read those a whole dozen!)

 Confession:

I have not read any of the Harry Potter's, but I listened to them (except the last one). Jim Dale does a great job as the narrator!

I listened to audio books while traveling between Columbus and Cincinnati for work.  It was a long drive that I had to do every week.  As much as I hated it then, I miss the time it afforded me to "read" books.  I fly several times a month and I will read on the plane.  Currently reading a book that a friend of mine wrote about her bipolar daughter.  It's terribly written.  I hope it was therapeutic for her because if I were her daughter I would never speak to her again after reading it.

I re-read my favorites.  Like the Dark Tower series & Grapes of Wrath & a few others.  I have a favorite from the 80s called When Rabbit Howls that I have probably read half a dozen times but just average books I generally don't re-read.

Watching: various current TV shows. On Netflix, I'm finishing up Dr Who.

Reading: I pick up my Hunger Games box set on Thursday.

Listening to: the radio. And when I can find where I put it: Garth Brooks & the magic of Christmas

Oh, and at the moment, I'm watching COLTS FOOTBALL!

Watching: the Blacklist, Lockup on MSNBC (weekends only), Game of Thrones (again, for the 4th time, I am obsessed)

Reading: Far From the Tree by Andrew Solomon about parents with children who are profoundly different (little people, kids with MI, the deaf, kids who have committed crimes). It's long at 700 odd pages but really good.

Listening: I spend my day in the car, but I am constantly getting in and out so its hard to listen to anything. No continuity. Mostly I have MPR (Minnesota Public Radio) on. It's been keeping me up to date on the political candidates.

Reading: The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt... it's okay, but I'm not loving it. Next up is Through Black Spruce by Joseph Boyden. I loved the Orenda, so I have high hopes for this one.

Watching: The Walking Dead. It's the only show we watch with any regularity.

Listening: The radio. Specifically CBC1.

I just bought a new book called The Good Nurse. It's a true story. Not sure what it says about me that I like true crime.

After his December 2003 arrest, registered nurse Charlie Cullen was quickly dubbed "The Angel of Death" by the media. But Cullen was no mercy killer, nor was he a simple monster. He was a favorite son, husband, beloved father, best friend, and celebrated caregiver. Implicated in the deaths of as many as 300 patients, he was also perhaps the most prolific serial killer in American history.

Cullen's murderous career in the world's most trusted profession spanned sixteen years and nine hospitals across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. When, in March of 2006, Charles Cullen was marched from his final sentencing in an Allentown, Pennsylvania, courthouse into a waiting police van, it seemed certain that the chilling secrets of his life, career, and capture would disappear with him. Now, in a riveting piece of investigative journalism nearly ten years in the making, journalist Charles Graeber presents the whole story for the first time. Based on hundreds of pages of previously unseen police records, interviews, wire-tap recordings and videotapes, as well as exclusive jailhouse conversations with Cullen himself and the confidential informant who helped bring him down, THE GOOD NURSE weaves an urgent, terrifying tale of murder, friendship, and betrayal.

Graeber's portrait of Cullen depicts a surprisingly intelligent and complicated young man whose promising career was overwhelmed by his compulsion to kill, and whose shy demeanor masked a twisted interior life hidden even to his family and friends. Were it not for the hardboiled, unrelenting work of two former Newark homicide detectives racing to put together the pieces of Cullen's professional past, and a fellow nurse willing to put everything at risk, including her job and the safety of her children, there's no telling how many more lives could have been lost.

In the tradition of In Cold Blood, THE GOOD NURSE does more than chronicle Cullen's deadly career and the breathless efforts to stop him; it paints an incredibly vivid portrait of madness and offers a penetrating look inside America's medical system. Harrowing and irresistibly paced, this book will make you look at medicine, hospitals, and the people who work in them, in an entirely different way.

I like true crime novels too. Became obsessed with them for a while. So much so that I began seeing criminals and criminal behavior in everything. And the nightmares.

I had to stop reading them.

Have you heard of Michael Connelly? He has a detective series that is really good.

Here is a little about them. I have only been able to get a couple of them but I would love more.

Harry Bosch Series:

Harry Bosch Background: Born in 1950 in Los Angeles to Marjorie Phillips Lowe. He was named Hieronymus Bosch after the 15th century Dutch artist and nicknamed “Harry.” He became an orphan at 11 when his mother, a prostitute, was murdered. He grew up living in a youth hall and foster homes. He joined the army and did two tours in Vietnam. Harry returned to Los Angeles and joined the LAPD in 1972. He became a detective after five years in patrol.

Books in published order:
The Black Echo (1992)
The Black Ice (1993)
The Concrete Blonde (1994)
The Last Coyote (1995)
Trunk Music (1997)
Angels Flight (1999)
A Darkness More Than Night (2001)
City Of Bones (2002)
Lost Light (2003)
The Narrows (2004)
The Closers (2005)
Echo Park (2006)
The Overlook (2007)
The Brass Verdict (2008)
Nine Dragons (2009)
The Reversal (2010)
The Fifth Witness (2011) (one page brief appearance)
The Drop (2011)
The Black Box (2012)
The Gods of Guilt (2013) (one page brief appearance)
The Burning Room (2014)

LOVE Michael Connelly.  And Bosch in particular!  Right up there with Patterson's Alex Cross novels.

NJN that book sounds really good. I think I'll give it a try.
