Try to Guess...

I had a 4 pound plastic jar, the kind that grapefruit come in, almost full of pennies.

I sent Conor off to the Coinstar machine, to empty it out.

How much do you think he'll get?confuse

It was heavy. I'd guess it weighed ten pounds.

(Nope, I won't roll pennies. I'm too lazy. I did roll quarters, dimes and nickels yesterday. I have $119 to drag down to the bank. All, nicely rolled.wink)

Take a guess, just for fun.

I'm thinking, $15?

I say an average of $1.60 per pound.  If it was 10 pounds then $16.00.

A lot depends on the penny. When it was made and what it is made of.

All pennies.

I have separate piggy banks. One for quarters. One for dimes. One for nickels.

I rolls those. And take them to the bank.

Pennies, go into the jar. Nope, I'm too lazy to roll those.

Jut random pennies, that Wayne leaves on the counter. That I fish out of the washer. That I don't want to haul around, in my change purse anymore.

Just, everyday, pennies.smile

I was thinking of saying "$14.57" but that would be mean.

I have no idea.

Let's see, I have a 5 lb peanut butter jar. When that is full, I get about $23.00. You say yours is almost full. I'll say between $17-18.

I remember seeing people win on The Price is Right by guessing (bidding?) $1.00, hoping that everyone else guessed too high.

I've seen them win with that strategy many times! The Ex loved that show and you can't help but be sucked in as you walk by the tv.

I have one of those counting jars. I currently have a little over $66 in it. I don't use cash a lot so it builds slowly.

We play it at the grocery store, sometimes. Holiday time, is the best. When we have a big order. And a couple of kids around.biggrin

It's always good for a laugh. We put in our bids, at the end of the check out, and see who came the closest.

The cashiers, always laugh at us. It's fun.wink
