If snot was money, I'd be a muti-millionaire. Where does this stuff come from and why won't it leave?

Other than that, good morning all. Hope you have a great day!

I've been curious to try that, but the inside of my nose is dry and has sores in it.  Won't the saline make it even dryer?

Get out your steam vaporizer and add a 2 tsps. of salt. You need to keep the air humidified. Dose up on Benadryl, Claritin or other cold medicine/drying agent. As for sores, you could have cold sores. Sometimes they appear in the nose. That is annoying.

Morning. I don't mind Mondays. Everyone goes to work or school and I am here with some quiet. Since C finished school and is waiting to take her test, I am getting to spend time with her again. I have her all to my self most days through the week. I love it. We are going to get our nails done sometime this week.

It's terribly foggy out. The boys don't want to get up. The day I need a little more driving time, they don't want to get up.

Oh well. What holiday IKWTDS?
Enjoy your day off Flan, it's trying to get cold here as well.
Squeaks, I spent a lot of time sleeping in a recliner at this stage of pregnancy.
NJN, Monday will be Tuesday before you know it.

Have a great day everyone.

Mucinex and saline wash.

Afrin at night so you can breathe.

Chap stick soothes a sore nose.

Nice pic Gaga. Glad your daughter was able to do that.

DE, the saline you get in the store doesn't. And what Ed suggested is what pediatric doctors tell you to use with babies. It doesn't hurt. It actually feels good.

for inside your nose, put a tiny, tiny, tiny amount of Vaseline on either your pinkie or a qtip and coat the inside. A very, very thin covering will help.

My dad was told to do that by a doctor when his got so bad and was bleeding a lot. It helped sooth and it helped it heal.

No, it just moistens. It's the same salt content as human blood. (You are human, aren't you? Have I been jumping to a wrong conclusion? smile)

Be prepared to swallow, and have a dry tissue handy to catch any overflow.

It should not make any sores hurt.

I squirt saline into my boys' nostrils every time they come in from outside. It provides moisture up there and rinses out the allergens.

Great pic, LGS. That sounds like a really good experience for her.

It's snowing here. Bucket loads. Lots of white stuff on the ground and in the air today. School is still on though, so I bundled her up and made DH take her. Tomorrow is a holiday for us as well.

DE, my DH is suffering the same thing and he irrigates his sinus's three times a day!
A bug is going around here and DH and DD caught it. They were both sick puppies yesterday and still this morning.
LGS, that is a great picture! Glad your DD was able to attend.
Darn, it's cold outside! The wind isn't helping!!!
NOAW, I'm hoping we only get a skiff of snow instead of the 3 inches predicted.

I cried in the OB's office because I am so freaking frustrated. She is still high and has managed to flip herself back in to a head up position. Because she's not engaged, they can try a procedure to move her, but it carries some risk and the success rate is something like 50% AND because she is not engaged she can flip herself back again. So my doctor mentioned scheduling a c-section because he said most first timers engage early if they are going too. And that's when I lost it because I've done yoga, I've bounced on a ball, I've done pelvic stretching exercises and after all of that they're now throwing around the c-section word. Everything has gone to hell in a hand basket and I thought THIS was one thing I was doing well and she's not even anywhere close to being in the position she needs to start getting in.

I've never had a baby, but I feel like her positioning at this point is not something that you have control over.  I don't think that this means you have done anything wrong ...

Don't worry Squeaks.

C didn't flip till the day before they planned to turn her. All at once. Just turn over. It happens.

Try laying in different positions.

And get down on all 4s and let gravity help with the turn.

And if you have to have a c-section then you have to have one. The goal is a healthy baby.

So sorry, but NAOW is right. The baby can still flip on her own.

DD's second and fourth baby's flipped head down 3 days before delivery. It can happen.

Newest grandson did not drop until labor, so don't worry about that. Also a first birth for momma.

The doctors are only preparing you for all possible outcomes. You have about a month to go yet, there is time for her to change position.

Sending good thoughts your way, Squeakers.

Happy Monday. I am working 3-11 this week because we have some people on PM shift that need retraining. I Almost had a stroke this weekend when I kept finding sh!t has ass done by one particular chick. Makes everyone else's job harder.

Cute basketball pic LGS, your DD is very tall!

Sorry about the disposal Flan, I hate plumbing.

Holiday schmoliday IKWTDS!

My cold has caused me to lose the 2 pounds I gained on vacay plus 2 more.

Squeakers my DD didn't turn until just before I had her either. I ended up having a C-section for other reasons so I worried for nothing.

Everyone have a good day, sorry if I missed anyone.

You missed ME! cry

Sounds like you have a rough week ahead of you. Why do vacations seem to lead to extra work when you get back? Sorry that is happening to you.

Yeah on the loss of some weight, not on the method though. Hope you feel better soon.

Lots of time to go yet. Baby has plenty of opportunity to flip into position. Don't let it get you down. She is doing things on her own timetable - as most babies do. Remember...no baby follows "the chart" 100% of the time.

Just went on FB. I get headline news from my local paper on my timeline. A man I used to work with attacked a Walmart employee a few days ago for no reason and tried to stab him in the back. He ran off and the police were trying to identify him. Fast forward to last night. He shows up at Walmart again and attempted to shoplift. They got him and now he's in jail. I posted about this guy several years ago. He didn't work with me long. He was super creepy and made it clear to anyone in the OR that he thought we were all lazy and he was the only one doing any work. He would snap pics of us doing computer work and tell the boss we weren't doing anything. My coworker brought some church stuff that another coworker had asked for and he told the boss that she was distributing religious material. He kept showing up after he was fired and would get people to let him in the OR (you need a badge to get in). He keeps telling people he's coming back to work and he's been banned from the property for about 2 years now.
He won't last in prison, he's arrogant and creepy.

One of my coworkers is friends with his cousin. Apparently they just recently had him committed and he just got out. He broke off all family ties due to this so now he has no one. His mom passed away a few years ago and relatives have always been there for him. One of the last times I saw him was when I was driving downtown and I passed a young man walking down the road yelling and shaking his fist. There was no one around. After a was a few yards away I realized who it was and just shook my head. He's so young, it's a shame. He really needs help bad.

There are some things beyond our control.  I always say some of the best choices are those made for you.  If she flips back, great.  If a C-section is what is needed, great.  Either way, you will have a healthy baby.

I can guarantee motherhood will throw you many more curves than pregnancy.

I don't want a c section. I've done many things to get ready for labor and I don't want a c section and I am feeling very pathetically sorry for myself right now.

I had a c-section. It's pain-free. Recovery is easy as long as you get up and walk around as soon as the doc allowed. And there's no visable scar.

I didn't want a lot of things when I was pregnant. I didn't want my parents to throw me out of the house and onto the streets at age 19, with no job, and no education. But they did and I survived and thrived. I didn't want my child to be born with serious emotional issues.  But she was. And she survived and thrived. I didn't want my toxic mother in law to send packages addressed to my children filled with candy and notes asking why she wasn't allowed to play with them anymore. But she did. And we survived and thrived.

My point is...

There are more important issues coming up for you. This one isnt in your hands. Let it go. You can't afford to waste time or energy on anything that isn't helping you and Marla. You have a lot of things going for you that you should be thankful for. a lot. Focus on those things, not the things going wrong. You can't win playing that game. Part of parenting is controlling what you can control and letting the rest of it slide without a second thought.

If the thought of having a c section throws you into this much of an emotional tailspin, maybe you should consider seeking out the services of a professional who can help walk you through your feelings.

There is nothing wrong with a C-section. Nothing. Having one does not mean you're a failure. It does not mean you did something wrong. The most important thing is to have a healthy baby. Whether that baby arrives vaginally or via C-section is irrelevant.

I had an unplanned, non-emergency C-section with my son and I don't regret it at all. My scar is the most treasured mark on my body because my son came out of it.
