OMGosh. I represent an estate and was trying to get a bill out of a well known bank, so that the estate could pay it. They said they can't talk to me b/c they needed an updated death certificate.
How many times do they expect the guy to die?

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

My grandfather died in 2007. When my grandmother died in 2013 my dad went to the water company to put the account in his name. He discovered that the account was never taken out of my grandfather's name - grandma just kept paying it. He explained that they were both deceased and he needed the bill in his name now. The water company told him the only way they could take the account out of my grandfathers name was if grandpa came in a signed off on the change
When the water company called and threatened collections on the unpaid bill my dad laughed at them. Rep warned the account holder's credit would be effected. He hung up on her.
