House envy? Not me. Yuck. Look at those windows that have to be cleaned. And those columns that have to be cleaned. All that prettiness has to be a pain to keep up. Yuck.

You're welcome, flan. I really hate that some stores are open on Thanksgiving. I'd rather spend my money at the ones that don't.

FNW your house looks a lot like the house I grew up in. Standard brick colonial. Very pretty. I can't imaging buying one in your zip code with exploding real estate prices. When my parents bought theirs back in 1977 it cost less than my current car.

Seriously though, it is pretty horrific what some people feel is ok to do to girls just because they're girls when they should be teaching boys to keep their hands to themselves.

Kudos to these places for staying closed and actually recognizing the holiday. These stores will not be open on Thanksgiving.
1. American Girl Place
2. Barnes & Noble
3. Bed, Bath and Beyond
4. B.J.'s
5. Burlington Coat Factory
6. Costco
7. Crate & Barrel
8. Dillard's
9. DSW
10. GameStop
11. Hobby Lobby
12. Home Depot
13. HomeGoods
14. Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts
15. Lowe's
16. Marshalls
17. Nordstrom
18. Patagonia
19. Petco
20. Pier 1 Imports
21. Publix
22. Radio Shack
23. REI
24. Sam's Club
25. Sierra Trading Post
26. Sur La Table
27. Talbot's
28. T.J. Maxx

Cross Radio Shack off the list. They decided they will be open at 5am-12am on Thanksgiving and then they open very early (6am I think) then next morning.  On top of that, they notified employees less than 3 weeks before the holiday when. A dear friend of mine is a store manager and he has to work the full open to close shift on T-Day (because employees are refusing to work that day or quitting) plus be in at open on Black Friday. He doesn't have enough employees to cover shifts due to the refusals to work and being a small store.

There's quite the uproar about it both from the public and the affected employees.

My mother once told me, "If it costs more than $12,000 it had better have a basement."

The Prius has a very small basement.
