I had cleaned my plastic ware a few weeks ago. I may do it again soon. It's just never neat. Friday I tidied a set of cabinets that has a bunch of misc stuff and some small appliances.
I purged the junk drawer. I actually dumped the whole damn thing in the trash after taking out the misc. screwdrivers. If there was something in there we should have kept, oh well. It was liberating. That drawer now has dish towels in it so I'm not tempted to rejunk up.

Ok I know I am remiss is cleaning the linen closets, but in my defense, as I was putting up christmas decorations and wrapping gifts I purged boxes and old lights. I really do have decent storage!

I'm purging so much stuff it's ridiculous. Last night I cleaned out my gadgets drawer and my kitchenappliance cabinet. I tossed A LOT of stuff. Old fryer? Gone. Old salad spinner? Gone. Bunch of little appliances we never use...g'bye.

I purged unsightly Christmas decorations while putting up my trees. I filled a large trash can. The basement storage area looks so much better. After the trees come down, I'll tackle the rest of the basement. I also have a guest room to purge. But for now it's housing Christmas wrapping stuff and presents from Santa.
I have a squirrel lawn ornament that I need to purge. I've had it for 20 years and it has a broken foot and is all faded. People see it and ask what it is, lol.

Toss that sorry sight right now!

I purged a dirt devil vac this morning. It was awful for vacuuming the non carpeted floors, basically all the hair would just stick to the fabric on the bottom. My Meile does it all.
Blankie, take sand paper and cut it with the scissors that are dull, it will help to sharpen them, or use your knife sharpener.

My local Joannes will have a guy come in every month to sharpen scissors. I've never brought mine in, but my friend said he did a great job on hers. Of course it depends on how expensive your scissors are if it's better than buying a new pair. My pinking shears were $80.

I lose scissors all the time. You'd think my house would be a death trap of scissors with all the missing pairs that have to be lying around somewhere.
LOL, glad it's not just me! I buy a new pair every few months. I just did all my Christmas wrapping and, what do you know, I could only find one pair to work with.
Involuntary purge. I left my closet door open. One of the cats went in there and sprayed 3 purses. Die!!! The smell never comes out. One was a cute Tommy Hilfiger plaid purse. I loved that one in the summer.
I was looking for a pair of tweezers because one of the cats had a huge tick and I see that I need to do a nail polish purge. I only paint my toes 99.9% of the time because I can't wear it at work and it's just too much trouble to put on and take off so much. I have a lot of polish. Some of it probably isn't any good anymore. Last year I gave about 6 bottles to a neighbor. Looks like I will have to do it again.
So I cleaned out the other closet (I have 2 in my bedroom). I found a pair of boots that I forgot I had. I also threw out about 15 purses, a handful of cosmetic bags, and a pair of boots. Oh, and 5 or 6 tote bags.
Question: Does anyone else have to purge their kids toys while they are gone? That was by far the worst part because every time I would try with them home, it was we can't get rid of that! It's my favorite toy! (Usually in reference to a toy that hasn't been touched in months.) Then it gets played with for about 5 minutes then dropped again. I sent the boys to my moms for an afternoon so I could tackle their toy boxes. They were, however, all too eagar to purge their clothes.............

The toys used to drive me nuts. DD would want to hang on to broken toys or toys missing pieces. I would purge while she was gone too and she usually wouldn't miss anything for a few weeks if at all.
Sometimes I do it while DD is gone. This time she was there and I just told her that these bins (the bins for toys) are all the room we have, whatever doesn't fit is going away. That helped her make some better decisions.
