Thanks everyone! 

I had a nice lunch at our favorite restaurant with my mom, then we went shopping and she bought me a new purse I'd been wanting.  My dad picked out a very sweet card for me and put money in it (oh goodie! biggrin).  My brother had to thank Facebook for reminding him to call me this year, lol.  He and I are always faithful to call and send a card with a gift card or money to each other, but he's working on building a side business every spare minute he has so it almost slipped by him.  I do love my brother and I certainly admire his work ethic - he's a great guy.  His wife, not so much, but you can't have everything.

AND I received a LOT of lovely cards from... my church family!  I've "done church" since I was 25 years old (and I'm 56 now - I think it's just plain silly to hide your age!) and never have I been as loved-on as I have in this church.  It's just what I need right now and all those good folks are helping me get through this time in my life into a much better time.

More important than my birthday:  Nine years ago on November 17th, I went to the local shelter and adopted Honey. Happy Forever Home day, Honey-Bunny!
