Monogrammed umbrella

So, my office manager and I talked about getting a monogrammed umbrella for our co-worker, until the embroidery person said if you monogram it, it will leak.  And she was like, duuuhhhh - and felt really stupid.  So, now I really want to get her a monogrammed umbrella.  But I need someone who knows how to do it with proper backing so it doesn't leak. 

 

Anybody do that or know someone that does?

 I would think you could apply a seam sealer after the monograming, the same stuff used on tents.

Why sew it on? Use a good material to material glue.

There are companies that specialize in monogrammed give-aways. I get ads in my email from Staples fairly often.

 I've found that using the sticky back works fine on some things, but an umbrella that will be open and shut often, might not hold up.

Somewhere there was a self sealing backing...I just have to remember where I saw it....
