I love these ideas. I don't want to spend money for a temporary thing so I am leaning toward buying a large plant for the corner of my living room, screams for it anyway. Now should I get a Norwegian pine or a Hibiscus?

The Hibiscus.
My uncle did a Hibiscus tree. He did it with apples and white lights. Left it up year round. It was neat.

We have a hook in our ceiling in the living room. I think the ones who lived here before us had one of those hanging lights on it.
Anyway, I could do that here.

Love the hanger thing. A fresh flower thing is pretty but not practical.. Really leaning toward the lights hanging and attached to something on the floor. I still have a 36" metal frame from a wreath last year. I can do this!

The flower looking tree are succulents. They absorb water from the air.
I think it is really neat and I would love to have one.

Our mantel is made from a hewn log. It is hard like a rock and cant get anything in it.

This is a great alternative to hanging from a mantel. What if you don't have a mantel?
We don't have a mantel, an d we had a wall hanging with hooks for stockings but it didn't hold them well when they were full, this looks like it will work well no matter what.
Years ago I worked for a firm that didn't have room or funds to buy a Christmas tree. So I brought in some lights and ornaments and decorated the ficus. Co-workers thought I was crazy, but ended up liking it so much we decorated the "Christmas Ficus" every year, even after we moved to a larger office. We voted to use the funds for bonuses rather than buy a tree.
