Grocery store was not too bad today. It was the only shopping I had planned. ShopRite has whole pork loin on sale for $1.29/lb (average is 10 lbs). We got three of them.

I was hoping they would have the turkeys on sale like they did 2 years ago for $.09/lb. They had some that were marked down but not enough to make it a decent deal.

Let's see: I had to go into work today for all of half an hour. Truck broke down earlier in the week, which made delivery late. And made me have to work on the holiday. Good thing I live close.

We are on our way home with the Christmas tree now. Got all the decorations out of storage during the day and now it's time to put them up!

So christmas village up, other decor out. Decorating will be completed Sunday. I think I already said that. No tree this year! Wow, that is a load off.

Day one of day three of the Amish Fair. SO tired, SO much fun, SO much brain overload. DH and I gave the kids money and sent them on their way. Then we spent the day going to classes. We went to five classes and learned a TON. We noshed on onion tangles and corn dogs for lunch and before we left got everyone apple cider donuts, apple cider, and fresh kettle corn. We still have so much to cover and see. I really want to listen to their evening music program where they sing a lot of hymns. That's on the schedule for tomorrow. We're having so much fun.

Hello everyone! Our house is quiet for the first time in three days!
We had so much fun! Grand baby was held continually and he loved it!
Decorating for Christmas starts tomorrow, maybe. I never get in a rush.
Now I need to take a few minutes and read what I missed over the last few days.
Hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving week!
The Amish fair sounds like fun, NJN.
Are you home yet, flan?
IKWTDS, no tree sounds...... depressing.
Hi, chef and FWM.

Flan, it is so cool there. You would love it. OMG the smells are just heavenly. Everything smells so good! They do have some working things but most everything is handmade. All the buildings. Wooden pegs instead of nails. Everything smells so nice. The buildings, the food, the air. The food isn't typical fair food. It's things like fresh kettle corn and fresh brewed cider and fresh donuts. They make their own bread and cheese. The smells are just delicious.

We went to five classes today. Sustainable Gardening, Composting for the Garden, Raising Backyard Chickens, Organic Pest Control for the Garden, and Food Preservation and Canning. BRAIN OVERLOAD! They probably have fifty different classes. They have classes on everything from homesteading to religion to homeschooling to raising livestock. We learned so much! We have a list of classes we want to go to tomorrow too.

Anyone who wants to and can find one should go to this. It's just really really fun and interesting.

I'm glad your Thanksgiving was nice, FWM.

It will be a few days before I post a new pic. The little family had a professional come to our house today and they did newborn and family pictures. I can hardly wait to see them.

The pictures I take are not nearly as good. I may post a favorite in the break room later though. If I can get the attatchment thingy to work for me.

I went to Hobby Lobby and came home with a ton of new Christmas ornaments for the white tree. We are doing an ice tree. Pictures when it is done.

It was soooooooooooooooo much fun!  I can't stop saying that!  But people, each lecture is one hour.  Well, 55 minutes so you can get to the next one.  There's not a lot of time between classes to work off your steam.  We saw some of the same people in all five of the classes with us and they had toddlers.  They expected them to sit quietly for five hours.  Not happening.  When your child starts screaming full force and won't quit, or starts kicking the chair or wall, it's time to take them out so the rest of us can hear the speaker.  Also, please don't eat loud food.  Apples and caramel corn make so much noise when you're trying to listen to someone speak.

Czech, I'm glad you had fun with that baby!

FWM, glad you had a good holiday!

Oh, that's right. A Disney trip, right?

I don't blame you for not having a real tree.

Yes, Disney. We set up my village pieces for the first time since way before DD was born. I just plugged them in. DD is sleeping at a friend's tonight so isn't here to see the beauty. Funny thing is, a kid's table I had for DD and was about to get rid of, is the perfect height next to my wide sills on the the picture window. I placed a few different height boxes to make is look like a hilly town. just need a few ice skaters for the ice rink. DD will be thrilled when she sees this all done.

Oh, we hardly saw any dogs out there.  And the ones that were out there were farm animals.  They herded animals.  I'm sure some have pets but I don't know.  Didn't see them running around.

people besides Amish run puppy mills too.  It's pretty unfair to label "Amish" as torturing animals.
