She's good! She is a week old as of 12 minutes ago.
Some how I missed the fact that she was born! Congratulations! How are you feeling? I remember when I brought both my boys home. They were sleeping in their little car carriers and I looked at my mother and asked, "Now what do I do?" I asked the pediatrician the same thing. Both said, "just grow them."
Good morning ladies!
Looks like it will be a fine day here. Temps in the upper 30's, I can live with that.
Living room will get a shampoo job today. Hope to be done by noon. Informed DD that she was going to be helping me, she is not please. I'm such a slave driver.
Stay safe out there today and have a good one.

After DS1 was born, DH had gone home to get some sleep. The nurse wheeled in this little creature in a bassinet, then turned to go.
I was THIS CLOSE to saying, "You're just going to leave me alone with him?"

I remember that first night alone with her. Everyone was in bed and lay there all night just listening to her breathe. Wondering how on earth I was going to take care of her.
The funny thing is, after my 3rd, I still had the same feeling. I was at the kitchen sink with the bottles and I swear my mind went blank for a minute. I stood there staring thinking "what do I do with these".
I think each child comes with its own little bit of unknown.
And that is the wonder of children.

I remember the first time I went to change C's diaper. I was afraid to lift her by her ankles cause they were so small. I thought her feet might just pop right off. I would use her knees.

Just found out Guy Penrod is singing in walker county tonight. I wish I had known earlier. I love hearing him sing.

I wanted to return DS to the hospital. He wouldn't stop crying. both his father and the hospital said I couldn't. I didn't know what to do.
I stopped at the store to buy a bday gift for one of DD's friends. I bought myself Mama Mia. Love that movie. blue ray 4.99
If you returned him to the hospital, wouldn't they just send him back to the manufacturer? Could you post a copy of your receipt?
When it was time for C's first check up my dad was here when I left. As I was leaving he asked why we were going to the doctor. I told him we had to decide to keep her or take her back today. I asked him what he thought.
He smiled and said "well, I guess we can keep her."

I always wanted to take a belly dancing class. Wish I had.

Well. When I started feeling bad the instructor told me to sit and just move my arms. You could always modify and just do what you are able to do. Belly dancing sounds like so much fun.
I couldn't do the belly dancing now but I think it would be a ton of fun.

I thought I messaged you last week. I'm sorry! I also posted on the kids thread as kind of an announcement.
Zumba is great for all ages. You pick your intensity. The instructor is my height (4'9") and is so cute! She had gastric bypass and has lost 145 pounds. She had skin reduction surgery and now she is so tiny, such an inspiration. She's also my age (late 40's) so I know anything is possible.
Yep. Parents are often life lines. I'd been homeless without mine. And now, they ehlp me out so much with the kids. Things I cant do because of my health, they do.
I love my parents. We all get on each other's nerves at times but there truly is nothing like family.

I am going to be staying with my parents for the first year while I pull my life back together. Instead of feeling like crap over it I'm actually relieved I will have back up and I don't have to do this by myself. I will never be able to repay them, but they're truly fantastic. I'm a lucky girl. She is so tiny and she seems so fragile I feel like one wrong move and I will break her, so happy to have my mom to refer too.

Sounds like a good plan!
Don't think of needing to "repay" them. They are happy to help & you would do the same for your daughter.

You don't need to pay your parents back. they don't need it and don't want it. Every time you question that just look at Marla, think how much you love her and how you would do anything for her. That is how your parents feel. Plus they get to see their grand baby everyday for a year.

Sometimes we forget and take them for granted.
I know you know this. Just a reminder.

People will probably get mad at me but I never remember being scared after I brought my kids home. I was always in awe of how beautiful they were, at least to me, but never afraid they'd break. Not sure why but I always just felt like it was what I was meant to do. There were times I had questions though. Usually when one got sick. That's when I'd call my mom and ask her what to do.

This was me too. I was never scared I'd break my son. I was scared of SIDS. I was scared of dropping him. But never scared of breaking him.
Now that he's almost 1 year old, I'm scared of him breaking himself. He is shaping up to be quite the rambunctious toddler!

Have you thought about getting him a helmet?
