I have a few things but I need some more. C is easy to get for and I probably wont be getting her anything else but the chocolate coins and that kind of thing they all get.

The boys are proving hard to get for.

They are 16 and 17. I need ideas for them.

So far I have

ear buds
an Itune gift card
a beanie boggin
a reusable water bottle
some beef jerky
deodorant
handkerchiefs
chap stick

They seem to be needing something though. A few more things. Nothing elaborate or expensive.

I am trying to think of what they would need batteries for. Everything they have has rechargeable batteries.

What about pens or other school related items. I cant really think of anything else.

School items are good. Maybe a cool pen that you wouldn't buy them otherwise.

They have proven difficult this year.

It use to be so easy. Just pick up anything Lego or Bob the Builder or whatever they were into.

Now they actually have preferences. lol.

Mini tools or a min flashlight on a key chain. Like a small screwdriver. Great for loose screws if they wear glasses. Mini flashlight key chains are great too.

I always like getting things I would normally buy myself so I don't have to buy them. Lotion, cologne, anything like that.

Are they shaving yet or wishing they were...lol? Maybe a good (lot's of blades with a cool handle) razor and shaving cream. I always try to add practical items to the other stuff to make it fuller.

I forgot the toothbrushes. They are each getting a new spin brush.

I have a few treats for them.

They each have a big cookie in a holiday tin.
a thing of mentoes mint gum.
a small Russell Stover chocolate box

They get a bag of gold coins every year. It's a tradition. They also get an apple, an orange and a nut. I don't know why but I always got those, my dad always got those and he said his mom always got them.

They do shave. Each has an electric razor. They started shaving at about 13 or 14. They had to.

I am making note of your suggestions. Keep them coming please.

Little love notes I sneak in (everywhere) because I wrap it all with the scrap paper so the stocking lasts longer and who doesn't want to know that I love them when they're opening that oh so special deodorant...lol

That's why I give mostly necessary stuff (with love notes). When you're giving them a computer or whatever there's not much left to unwrap...lol

I started stuffing DDs' stockings today. DD10 has more than Baby J so far, but DD10 has CDs, candy bar, and nail stickers. Baby J has a candy bar and sunglasses (my little pony).

My kids are grown. I do scratch tickets, a magazine they like, my homemade granola, homemade spiced nuts, a toothbrush, a candy cane, a $10 gift card to Starbucks or somewhere else, Hot Hands handwarmers for the two that sometimes work outside, and a few sweets.

Oh, and always a tangerine in the toe. That's a tradition.

I got both kids one of those rechargeable plug things for their electronics. So when we are out of reach of an electrical outlet it gives them another 8 hours of energy for their iPods or computers. They are $29 at BB&B but with the weekly 20% off coupon brings it down to 24. It's a great stuffer

I got a few things today. I think I am done. I separated everything out and they have more then I remembered. So it's good.

If you have a FiveBelow near you, they have them there too.

I walk around FiveBelow and get some good ideas for stocking stuffers.  They usually have some good ideas there from cups with straws to little games to sports stuff.

I have been known to through a chunk of the summer sausage in a pot of beans. It's really good.

I've had bad experiences with 5 Below's charger cords so I won't buy stuff like that there.  Do like their hair stuff for Dd though.

For a 16 or 17 year old boy, I'd recommend a Swiss army knife (if they are responsible enough to be trusted with pocket knives). Many of the other ideas I've seen on the thread were good as well.... I especially liked the fast food gift cards suggestion someone made. I'd suggest that you go to several different places in town and get them a $5 card from each, though... not just from one place. Give a little variety.

Be careful giving gift cards. If you give a card for a place the person doesn't go, your money is wasted.

If they go there, but routinely spend less than the face value of the gift card, the excess is likely to be wasted.

Don't buy a card that has FEES, or a card that expires. I've seen cards that charge a fee of 10% per month after 90 or 180 days.

A neighbor once gave our little kids Toys-R-Us gift certificates. Guess what ... they expired.

Thanks Tiny!

And to everyone for the suggestions.

I am done with the stockings. I don't think I need anything else.

I have to pick up the traditional gold coin chocolates and orange apple and some kind of nut. But I will wait till closer to Christmas to get those.

There are laws now about expirations and charges Ed. In the early days of gift cards that was typical, now, there are few charges and expirations are rare. Gift certificates usually have expiration dates.

The gift certs we sold had expirations on them. There is a reason for that.

Mostly the expiration dates a fiscal quarter.
