I'm not really a neat freak. I often have dishes in the sink and I hate dusting. I do vacuum 2 times a week but that's cuz my pup is a shedder. And laundry is tha bane of my existence. Hate laundry.

I use to clean daily. I had a system.

Every day I wiped down the bathrooms. It took less than 5 minutes. Cleaned the toilet, wipe down the counter and sink and the tub and sweep and mop the floor. I may not do it all at one time. I would do it when I went to use the bathroom.

I would wash as I cooked and usually didn't have anything left to wash but what was in our hands by the time I was done cooking.

I dusted, swept and vacuumed daily. I had to with my son's allergies.

Once a week I cleaned the windows.

Laundry was a daily activity. 3 kids and 3 adults can leave a mountain of clothes in one day.

Once a week the bed clothes got washed. and the floors mopped.

Now I wash the dishes, what I can of them. I help fold the laundry. I cook but no where near like I use to.

But, it is what it is and so shall it be.

I can still wipe down the bathroom. I cant get down to clean the tub though. Someone else has to do that.

That's true lily. But once they leave, it's either hire a maid, do it yourself or live like a hoarder. The maid is on my wishlist. I would love a cleaning service once a week.

Tomorrow I'm taking all my blinds down and steam cleaning them. That should be awful.

By the time they all leave I will probably have to have someone come in. Of course with just me, I don't think I will be making as big of a mess.

I have my guy shaved down twice a year. He looks even more adorable. But otherwise it's a matter of vacuuming and accepting that even the peanut butter will have the random dog hair in it.

Dog hair in the house? That's good for a few pages. Or even its own thread.

I use a furminator on the pooch. But it only cuts down on the dog hair, doesn't eliminate it.

I swiffer the wood floors a lot.

And I've found the best thing for the large carpets is a wet sponge mop.

Not just the regular sponge mop. The kind with the scrubber brush on one side.

It makes these awesome Rastafarian rolls of hair as I scrub the carpet with it.

Works much better than the vacuum.
