But why wash them? The point is to be able to throw them away. If I am going to have to wash them, just use the real ones.

Thanks FWM and flan. My normal overload caught up with me.. flan, I love you Christmas tire idea! I am not witty, sadly. My sister's are and so is DH. I get lost in the wittiness most of the time.
Does that make me a dim-wit?
I will not be humorized.
See, that was witty! dim wit...hahaha.
Mr.VoR says he married me because I'm so damn funny. He says funny people are fun, smart and attractive all wrapped up in the label of funny. Love that guy!
He lies...
I thought she married HIM for his wit.

Because I don't like the taste of metal silverware.
Plus, it's wasteful.
flan
I hope you don't put them in the dishwasher. Cheap plastic like the stuff used in disposable silverwear breaks down easily and starts to leach chemicals. Especially when exposed to high heat. It's not good for you to use it more than a couple of times.

So, DH is gone all day today, with the car, on a job interview. He won't be home until late tonight and I can't go anywhere. I'm thinking a long nap is in order.

How old is baby A? I'm with Lily. Leave her in the crib and let her be for a bit.
I tried, she lasted about 5 minutes before she was screamin, lol. She is almost 6 months.
Thing is, she was up and happy and playing. I mean, that can't be normal. Once she did go to sleep she was up every 2 hours or so.
From just about birth to 3 months she was sleeping through the night.. like really through the night- not just 6 hours straight. Then things changed. I don't know what happened!!
She's probably on a growing spurt NAOW. She'll even out.

How long did you let her scream? I usually went in every 5-10 minutes, did not pick them up, just whispered softly, rubbed their backs, gave a kiss and said goodnight and left the room. The time left alone would be extended each time until they finally realized getting up wasn't going to happen. Of course I made sure they were dry, fed, and comfortable, JIC that was the cause.

This might not apply to you, but it might ...
I've read, and seen that frequently when parents think their baby is sleeping through the night, it's not true. What happens is, the baby wakes up, plays quietly or just lies there, then goes back to sleep without disturbing anyone.

Yep. Baby A did the same thing again tonight. Went down to bed at 9, slept for 20 minutes and has been up ever since. I need to be thankful that she is happy and smiley and not sad or screaming, but I would also like her to go to bed and, you know, sleep. Oh well. This wont last forever...right?

My ten month old still doesn't sleep through the night. Not all children are good sleepers.
I just finished my online shopping for my shelter kid. He gets clothes, rain boots, a toy & a backpack with his favorite character on it. They fill out a questionairre on what they want. I would not have bought rain boots if it wasn't on the list. I had it all shipped to my mom's house. I knew if it came to mine I'd never get around to wrapping & we have a deadline of next week to deliver everything. The mom & sis would have gifts & the poor little guy wouldn't. So my mom will wrap & SIL can pick up everything for delivery there.

Yea, that is true. DD6 didn't sleep through the night until about a year and half. But she never slept through the night and then reverted either. That is what is weird to me.

J was awake every single night at 3 am. You could set your clock by it. He did this from birth till about 5. Most of the time he just wanted a bottle, or a drink and go to the bathroom when he got older. Then he would go back to sleep.
Kids do strange things.

Yes, she is a really good napper. I think I'm going to try putting her to bed earlier tonight. I've been reading that bad things happen when babies are over tired.
She is also still sleeping in my room in the pack n play. I wanted to keep her in there til 6 months but I might switch her sooner.
I had to cut out the afternoon nap and put them to bed earlier. If not they wouldn't sleep at night.
And she has learned that if she cries, you get her and play with her and spend time with her.
I know. I did the same thing. Had to teach myself not to do that every single time they made a sound.
But yeah, it wont last forever.

Did you know that when you put nerds candy on cup cake icing, it only takes 3 days for them to become mushy goo?
I do now.

Don't put sugar in the kool aid. That'll really get 'em!
I had never heard of Big Blue soda. But apparently it's all the rage now. Especially for Frozen parties because it fits in so well. I had my first glass yesterday and DH was teasing me about drinking the Kool-aid all night.

So...what I'm getting from all this advice is that none of you have a magic baby sleep pill?
You are correct.

Well, I did give my kids Tylenol a few times at bedtime. If they didn't want to go to sleep or kept waking up.
I wouldn't do it all the time.
Sometimes I wondered if maybe they didn't feel ok. Some kind of ache or pain they couldn't tell me about.
It would help them sleep.
But no. No magic pill.

just made my coconut cookies. I make the dough meant for spritz cookies, add about 2 cups of coconut flakes, roll in balls and bake. I then put hershey kisses in the middle and stick back in the oven for about 30 seconds so the choc keeps it's form but melds to the cookie. This year I did half with kisses and the other half with gum drop type candy in the shape of xmas trees and santas. They will be wonderful. Burnt the side of my pinky finger on the pan though, blister! I've made the dough for the roll out cookies, will cut the shape tomorrow and bake. decorate later. I love doing this! I do about 300 cookies and give most away.

NAOW: Hopefully Baby A will start sleeping through the night again soon. I'm not any help. My son started sleeping through the night at 5 weeks and still does. The only time he wakes up during the night if he takes his nap too late.
