I seriously did not leave my house more than a dozen times this summer.  That heat just about did me in.

Pontoon parties are the best parties.

I could easily be a member of the Redneck Yacht Club.

I like about anything. But potato salad, if done right, is heavenly.

Do you like it with hard boiled eggs? With a sweet or savory taste? I make three different kinds and it depends on what you have with it. My fancy one is only for special occasions so I guess this would count...lol

I love potato salad but can't eat it right now. I put celery and onion in it and my secret ingredients are bacon and bacon fat. Yep. I put bacon fat in my potato salad. Oh, and about a tablespoon of pickle juice. It's damn amazing. Won a blue ribbon at the Minnesota state fair one year.

That's what the news called it :) I had never heard that word before that day.

I called it frickin' freezing!

It was weird wasn't it?  Fox 10  did  graupel education for 2 days! We had graupel up against the fence for 2 days.

It was! White stuff is NOT supposed to fall from the sky in this area!

If I remember correctly, parts of the 101 running through Scottsdale got hit real hard.

Yes.  We had it up against the tires, on the porch, etc. I thought our area got hit the hardest.  Aren't you and I only 2 or 3 miles apart?  Of course the weather changes from the 101 to the 60 quite a bit!

Possibly closer than 2-3 miles. I'm roughly a mile east of the Hibachi Grill.

 It's a dry heat wink

I moved to AZ from coastal SoCal during summer and acclimated just fine. Now, I get cold if it gets below 90. I actually complained about it being cold once then looked at the temp and it was 110. I've also been mini-golfing during the day in summer. You do get used to it.

What sucks is during Monsoon when the humidity goes up. 115+ with 90%+ humidity SUCKS! I get humidity migraines, which further adds to the misery.

We picked him up from school and he told DH he got his progress report.  He proudly announced he had all B's.  So while I jumped out at the store to run in for two things DH dug his progress report out of his backpack.  Um, he had a B in science and, failing math, reading, and grammar, and making C's in everything else.  Nice try dude.

There was also a note about his book report that was due TOMORROW.  You know, the book report he's known THREE WEEKS about.  We asked him if he had a book.  He showed us a book of comic strips.  Um, that's a no go.

We also got to review his school papers.  Most of them had little red notes on the top.  Like, FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.  USE CAPITOLS.  USE PUNCTUATION.  SPELLING?  Sigh.

Egg and red bliss potato salad is the best, with vinegar pickles and with a slight ad of mayo an oil or a light plain yogurt.

I just ate there...twice last week.  I'm exactly 2.2 miles to the b of a building.  So, closer to 3 miles for sure.

I don't like it with hard boiled eggs or pickle relish.

I like it with mayo and mustard and some green onions and celery.

I also like it with red potatoes, with green onions, red bell peppers, bacon, sour cream and mayo and ranch dressing mix.

And German potato salad is another favorite. I am afraid to make it though. But I love it.
