How would you like them to get information from people who want us dead? Do you think if we ask nicely they'll tell us what we need to know? You all must be living in some utopia if you don't think this is necessary. I'm glad there are those who's job it is to do this because I personally could not but I'm smart enough to realize it IS necessary.

NO ONE likes torture (well except those sick SOB's cutting peoples heads off) but sometimes you have to do what you have to do no matter how unpleasant it is. I said this on another thread but I'll say it here as well. America is always the bad guy until they need us then we're the first ones they call. We are the most generous nation in the world even though the rest of the world thinks we suck. War is awful and we do what we need to keep OUR nation safe because no other country has our best interest at heart.

There are lots of different kinds of people in the world. Just because you can't stomach something doesn't mean you shouldn't appreciate the people that can when it benefits you.

The information we gained through some of the methods, saved countless lives, American lives, maybe your life, because the info provided data on future attacks and methods. And as for the bogus Rectal Rehydration? That was taken from medical reports, medical records kept because we, the American taxpayer, funded the best medical care to those prisoners they had ever experienced. Those rectal rehydrations were colonoscopies! and the CIA's report is bogus.

Because the media and certain groups want you to feel bad for being an American.

Seriously? putting medical care in the report implying it was torture?  This was a bogus investigation and is a bogus report.  An agenda for the outcome was set and they did their jobs like good little civilian workers and put everything in it using terms that implied all this was done as acts of torture.  So now, on the global arena, once again, there is an unearned stain on our reputation.

So do we just let it run rampant?  What about that teen girl that recently burned alive?  98% of her body was burned.  The only thing that wasn't were the soles of her feet.  Someone doused her with lighther fluid and set her on fire?  I would have no problem whatsoever pulling the lever on the electric chair or firing a bullet into that perpetrators' heart. 

I think it is amazing that people are soooo much more upset over a few terrorists being waterboarded or having underwear on their heads than of 3000+ people falling to their deaths and being burned alive in the Twin Towers. Wow.

 Well, in 2004, an American prisoner was beheaded by extremists who gave the reason as "revenge for the U.S. torturing prisoners". 

 

Also, military and intelligence analysts are saying that Isis will be using this as its #1 recruiting tool for years to come and that right now, our troops and embassies are at a greater risk because this info came out.
