Seriously, the worldwide drought conditions have kept nut harvests small, as well as cocoa bean harvests small. So all candy with chocolate went up in price and candy with nuts went even higher.

Nutella is a competitor and for awhile it looked like there was going to be a shortage of Nutella because of the harvest issues

Will he eat chicken & rice? That is what I always gave my dog when he had tummy problems. The starch in the rice helps. The chicken is just to make the rice taste good.

Having a fried chicken salad and a loaded potato with beef brisket from the smoke shop for lunch. Soooo good. But it has gotten expensive and the guy running it is getting more and more rude. I don't know if we will continue to go there.

That pumpkin bar sounds yummy.

So this day started poopy and is continuing. Lol

I ordered DD's boyfriend a travel coffee mug with his favorite team for a Christmas gift. Amazon sent the wrong team. And, now the mug is more expensive.

I called Amazon, had to hang up 3 times before I could get someone who could understand me when I spelled my name. I spoke slowly and clearly (I freaking taught public speaking, I know it isn't me!) and they had no idea what I was saying. English was not their friend.

Finally got someone who understood me, and she emailed me a return label so I don't have to pay to return the item. Ok cool. I want to reorder the item and now I need rush shipping because it needs to be here before we leave to meet DD in Ohio. The item already says it takes an extra day to ship. No problem, they will handle that too. Great.

Except I have to call back tomorrow to finalize the transaction. Wait, what?

Something about their shipping day is over (it was 11am here, this item came from Seattle so it's even earlier there, not sure how the day is over at 9am, but whatever) and they can't process the item until tomorrow. Makes no sense to me. Plus, this is their screw up, why can't they fix it for me when I call them?

I swear, if I call tomorrow and it doesn't work out...

I ordered NY Giants and got San Fran 49'ers. Not the same city, not the same color... The item came in a plastic sleeve without any type of label on it. So they can't even say it was in the wrong bin and the computer picked the wrong item. No upc code!

Ha! She ordered NY Giants too! She got Buffalo so at least the same state & colors. I told her she should give it to them just to watch her son's head explode.

OMG lunch was amazing. I had the braised Angus boneless beef ribs and veggies. The meat melted in my mouth. Now I'm stuffed. It was great seeing my old boss and his wife again.

In a thoracotomy, the chest is opened, usually with a vertical incision down the middle of the sternum (chest bone).

I've seen surgeons gain entry by removing one of the lowest ribs, but I don't think that approach is very popular.

No one cuts through boobs to do this.

Sometimes when someone has an odd lumbar fracture or just the need to have some hardware put in in an unusual way the chest has to be cracked to get at it from "the otherside". It's very unusual. Very very unusual. Most our thoracotomies are done in the ER, usually for some type of trauma.

Party planning is a pain in my tushie. I need a polite way to tell the non-responders to the invite to DS' birthday party the following: If you want food, drinks, and treasures (we're doing a pirate theme) for your kid, we need to know if you're coming.

The food and drinks will likely not be a problem (I'm planning for leftovers so I can have a lazy day or two post-party and not have to cook) but having enough treasures for the games will be. We have 3 games planned (all age appropriate) and want to be sure each kid will end up with an equal amount of treasure. We will also have foam swords and pirate accessories for each kid.
