For those here that actually decorate a Christmas tree...what goes on the top?

Always an angel.

It's a beautiful golden star that shines brighter than all the other lights. I saw it on another tree and it was so cool I had to buy it.

Depends.

Usually either an angel or a star. This year one has an angel and the other a big bow that I made.

Well, I'm so outnumbered, at this stage of the game.

And Stinky, is the only one, of the six cats, who climbs the tree.

I just roll with it.wink

She looks pretty cute, up there.biggrin

Well, we've had a star, an angel, a bow, and a pointy glass topper...and somehow, a few years back, we ended up with a Santa hat on top. Neither of us can remember how it came about, but it's there now!

Oh, and one of our light and motion Hallmark ornaments from 1985-86 that hasn't worked but one year in the last 20 has magically decided to work this year!

Our cats passed away some years back, but I still have that darned squirt gun in the ornament box!

JPT, that's funny! May be time to get rid of the squirt gun or do you use it on your DH? wink

We used to top our tree with an angel my grandmother made for me. But, it bit the dust a long time ago and we have never replaced it.

So, we don't top our tree.

I love FWM tree topper. smile

My star looks kind of beachy since I have a beach theme.

I think this side has fewer ornaments but I was too lazy to get up and get the other side.

My small trees have stars, the tall one in the dining room has an angel, and the one in the living room, a long glass ornament that belonged to my parents and they used it every year when I was growing up. It's very lightweight and fragile but has survived 50+ years. The large tree in our bedroom does not have one topper, but is flanked with green sparkly "sprays" that shoot out.

I was thinking, a little olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic, then roast at 350 degrees until tender. blankstare

I use to do that. Trees in every room.  I would love to have a big enough space to do a bunch of trees in the corner. I love that.

But I would have to have a place as big as a shopping mall so I don't think I ever will.

No. For you. You can eat them.

I haven't tried it yet but I love them in Chinese food. so I have a whole bunch out back and I may just try it.

You have to soak them and it takes a while but if I can do it, yum.

My mother always had an angel on top. We received some of Husband's mother's decorations the first Christmas we were married, including a multicolor light up star tree topper.
I love it.

Our tradition is that the angel is the first thing ON the tree (even before the lights), and the last thing OFF the tree!

DH hates to decorate but loves to have the house decorated for the holidays. So I make him do one thing to help...he puts the star on the tree when we are done with everything else.

The 2 years he worked in a different state, the star didn't go on until right before Christmas but DDs wouldn't let me do it. It HAD to be Dad.

There isn't much of anything between here and there once you pass Savannah. Wouldn't be bad if we could find something 1/2 way. Would be less than 2 hours drive.
