Nick is a bully and no one likes him. Bobby decides that he will draw a picture of Nick getting shot in the head. He shows the picture to Nick. Nick punches Bobby. Bobby is upset. He tries to convince other kids to show off his picture at their desks. They refuse. Bobby sulks, and throws away the picture. Nick is still pissed, and decides that he really hates Bobby.
Honestly, I wondered if it was a publicity stunt to begin with.

I mean in the very beginning. Before the leaks started.
I still wonder how involved our own are.

Technically, I am comparing a leader of a country and a massive media company to two children, but yes, I find it surprisingly accurate.
Oh. So Nick should now always get whatever he wants or he will likely punch someone else.
Nick punched the idiot that purposely provoked him.
And so now Nick should get whatever he wants. I got it. The biggest bully should always get their way.
That is not supported by anything I said.
You are fond of saying people that do stupid things get what they deserve, but this seems to be an exception and I don't get your reasoning.
I don't think anyone deserved to be hacked, but I do think it was foolish of Sony to make a movie like this when they were so obviously unprepared for the blowback. I am curious as to what, exactly, they expected was going to happen. Did they think NK wouldn't notice? I mean, they took an Onion article seriously; a major movie was going to catch their attention. Did they expect them to shrug it off? If so, stupid. This country has repeatedly threatened to bomb us over the past few years, for basically no reason, and a graphic scene such as the one described would piss basically anyone off. Bottom line is, Sony was not prepared to deal with the consequences of their actions, and now they are out millions of dollars and have had their confidential records hacked.
Do I think NK was right to retaliate? Of course not. I think we should have nuked them a long time ago. Saying Sony was stupid for deliberately antagonizing them is not the same as saying they can do what ever they want.

Exactly. It's ok to admit Sony did something stupid. That doesn't mean the response wasn't a bad thing. This is a situation of 2 wrongs.

Because I don't think this was "stupid"--at least not any more "stupid" than a THOUSAND other movies that Hollywood has kicked out.

O made a statement about it. I'm too lazy to look it yp.
He said Sony made the wrong decision and they should have talked to him first. Where was he days ago? And by the way, Sony responded and said that they certainly DID talk to a senior White House adviser but didn't get to Obama.

Yes. Millions were lost when it was pulled. I can bet that it made no where near what it was originally projected to make because of the controversy.
It's like you have no sense of how business works at all.
There are other movies that were released after being pulled.
The only thing you are proving is your pit bull mentality.
And it's getting really old.
