Sadness

In my opinion happiness isn't something that you are born with. Happiness is something that happens through a series of experiences, habits and realizations over the course of your life.  This isn't a guide to try and fix people who are clinically depressed, but a series of things I have learned over my life that have shaped the way I look at life and the world.  It is my experience that the more positive habits you have in your life, the more emotional happiness you will experience.  Instead of telling you things you should do to increase your emotional satisfaction, I’ve created a list of bad habits you should try to correct.  Not only will they make you happier, they will also make you a better person.

Why is it depressing? Sometimes we all need to look in the mirror and say Oh, yeah, I can do better on that one or whatever.

"The chronic complainer tends to always have something wrong in their life, their issues are more important than everybody elses, and when you have something to vent about yourself, they aren't very interested in listening."

This pretty much says it all. If you view your life through you're problems rather than your blessings you're bound to be disappointed.

I think the Waiting for the Future is a big one. Too often we get more focused on that than today.

I think I have the totally opposite view on life. I might live too much in the moment and not enough in the future.

I'm pretty happy, but I could use a hobby or two.

It's often about finding the right balance.  I think our lives get out of whack because human beings tend to go too far one way or the other.  Many things are great in moderation but we can get out of balance at times.

I figure the future isn't promised so I try to live in the moment but I worry enough that I'm buying a retirement home in a warmer climate so just in case I make it I won't have to shovel snow...lol

LOL! No thanks!!! One is more than enough!

Sometimes I think I could use a Sister Wife though.. Not for the husband sharing, but someone to help out during the day and keep me company, lol.

the tao or " way " from the tao te ching (written by lao tzu) is all about striving to lead a life of balance in all things--a work of truth, indeed
