The people who knew all that protesting was wrong are not about to go out and protest. Why aren't you out there with a sign...lol And this was all over the news so saying there was no news coverage is really not true.

What is there to protest? Yes, it is an awful tragedy, but the article makes no mention of race, religion, or any suspected motive at all. The shooter is dead, so howling for his blood is out.There is no clear target for a protest. I could see a vigil, or a minute of silence, but what exactly do you expect people to do otherwise?

They were shot because they were police officers in retaliation of the police shootings in Ferguson.

So who do we protest? Nut jobs who shoot cops because of other protests? I wouldn't even know what to write on a sign. "I'm against killing cops" "death to cop killers" "not enough protesting" It's hard to protest for something that just about averyone agrees with except for the criminals and they won't care.

The shooter was mentally ill. He committed suicide.

Very tragic. For what it's worth, I have seen this all over the news, it's not being ignored. I also wonder what we should be protesting? I'm against murder, I guess I could make a sign about that, but what should I do about this other than say It's sad and horrible and I pray for everyone's safety.

An officer was shot in Florida, in St Louis and 3 were stabbed in France. One was fired on in Boston. All in the past two days. I hear these items on the news because I listen to many news stations.

Here is the thing.

A thug was shot and the whole country became involved. Ball teams making "statements" as they entered ball fields and T-shirts being worn during games. There were conversations on nation levels and it became THE news for several months.

Now cops are getting shot and stabbed because of the whole thing and it gets a 3 minute blurb in the nightly news.

Where are the teams making statements and the national level conversations?

Aren't the Yankees offering to pay for schooling for the kids? That's a pretty big public statement. I'm not sure why these issues have to compete. It comes from the same core issue, murder is bad.

I hear them all talking about it (the news media) so I'm not sure what more they can do either. I was just as frustrated with the rioting and idiots. Yes Brown was a thug but there are many others who are not who are targeted by the police for no other reason than they are black, and I'm not talking about the crap Husker tries to say is harassment. There were some legitimate points about police and people who are not white being targeted. Unfortunately they ruined it by rioting and picking the wrong poster child for their protests.

I don't know where the shaming is. The big mouths that were shaming the police are not shaming this violence against the police.

I've heard it many many times and on many many stations. I think you need a new news to watch...lol. I've even heard that officers called out the mayor for supporting the protests and lot's of politicians saying how bad this is. I guess you're just missing it all because it's out there.

No matter how bad the protests about Browns death I don't think turning this into the same kind of thing would be a good idea. I don't want anyone burning stuff down in the name of these policeman and their families.

I want that loud mouth Al and Johnnie to get on TV and talk about how awful it is and call for these people who are harboring grudges to stop perpetuating the violence.

I have not heard that established as a fact.

From CNN:

Police have said Brinsley started his day in Baltimore, where he shot and seriously wounded his ex-girlfriend at her apartment in the early morning and then took a Bolt bus to New York.

Police Commissioner William Bratton told reporters that investigators believe the gunman acted alone, but he said that police still need a full understanding of Brinsley's actions.

They are still investigating.

By the end of the first day, the basic information was out there about Brown and the other guy. You had a basic grasp on what was happening.

In this case, you don't know what it was about and haven't had it in your face constantly.

I heard a story about this. There was a black woman with a sign that said something like "I am against police brutality, but I am also against brutality to the police". She had the right idea. In her interview she said violence has to stop, all it does is bring more violence.

I could perhaps agree with that if not for the fact that he sought out the police and killed them with "sucker punch" type shots. If it was about the girlfriend - kill her and then himself. This is the other way around, he decided to make a statement and decided he may as well take her, too.
