I wonder whether your DN really KNOWS that her nonsense is unreasonable, and she's doing it to be annoying and to see what she can get away with,

or whether she's an entitled person who doesn't understand that the universe doesn't really revolve around HER.

Is she clueless (i.e. mentally challenged) or just a bitch?

Well then, it's simple.

Do it all YOUR way,

tell her she's invited,

and she can come or not. No drama, don't care whether she comes or not.

If she comes and she's a complaining bitch, she can be invited to leave or stop complaining.

The key is, you have to absolutely not care.

Of course, you already know that.

Well there pulling it didn't change anything.

N.K. is still issuing threats and saying they are not behind the leaks.

In other news.

It's thundering! A lot.

We are under a severe weather alert. Strong winds, cloud to ground lightening, flooding.

Hmm, a peaceful Christmas. Hope everyone has one.
Have buns made.
House is almost in tip top shape. Need to mop yet, bleh.
Four pies to bake tomorrow and that's about it. It is a good Christmas. And it is white! We received about 3 inches of snow this morning. Sigh, a perfect day here. smile

There is a wildlife sanctuary about an hour away that does a living nativity every Christmas. I really wanted to go tonight, but it is freezing. I hope the weather clears up. I have heard that it is beautiful.

I already don't care ed.  And yes, it will be way more peaceful without her.  Originally everyone was supposed to be here the 26th.  Then DS got hurt at work, put on light duty in the office, and has to work now.  The original plan was to do breakfast buffet, WHICH I HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED TONS OF FOOD FOR, and then do a traditional dinner later.  DN's b/f didn't want to spend all day here so we told them they could come in the am and return in the evening.  When DS got hurt I told everyone we would do the breakfast thing the evening of the 26th when DS got home and open gifts.  The next day we'd do a traditional dinner.  Here's the issue.  She says DS got hurt at work ON PURPOSE to screw up her life.  She and Sparkly are going out of town on the 27th for three days.  They're also going out of town on New Years weekend.  So by having dinner on the 27th she will miss dinner.  She told me...  "I don't want fvcking breakfast sh!t.  I want turkey.  I expected to eat turkey and take leftovers home.  That's how you ALWAYS do it.  If I can't have turkey then I am not coming.  You love DS more than me or you'd do it my way.  I don't want to eat the crap you planned out.  I don't like it and I want turkey.  You could very easily fix what I want but you won't.  You don't want to make ME happy.  This is because you don't like my boyfriend and you're trying to punish me."  I told her, "This has NOTHING to do with you.  This has nothing to do with DS.  This has to do with a menu that has been planned and bought for for weeks.  I am not changing everything just to make you happy.  You can join us or you can not join us."  She said if I don't do things her way she's not coming.  At this point I hope she stays home.

Oh yes. And I talked to her today and told her what was on the menu because her b/f is picky. So I purposely planned a menu he would like. She informed me she was cooking a traditional turkey dinner at her apartment for the two of them before they came over to get their gifts because they are not eating our sh!t. Now, her b/f doesn't eat dressing, any type of veggie, sweet potatoes, or most other things. He eats mashed potatoes and gravy and turkey. And pie.

She said we could commence with the eating and to call them when present opening commences so they could join us. I won't even tell you the things DH is saying right now.

And here's the deal. lol I should probably put all this in the vent thread. I don't have very many positive memories of growing up. One of the few good ones I have is that every Christmas eve my dad would go by a bakery next to his work and get this special coffee cake. They make it the shape of a Christmas tree and use frosting and red and green cherries to decorate the "tree". On Christmas morning dad would cut into the coffee cake. Coffee cake was a "grown up" thing for us and we eagerly lined up to get our piece. We LOVED it. It was one of the few happy traditions we had. So now, every year DH and I have a coffee cake shipped in from Chicago for Christmas morning. I always make a brunch type meal and we lounge and eat and open gifts. This means a lot to ME and she doesn't care. It makes so angry.

I don't understand it.

We set a date and time. If you can be here then fine. If not, sorry.

Your DN is an adult. Time to stop treating her like child.

Tell her when and where and let it go.

Will there be hash browns? Cause I love me some hash browns.

Yes, I have an awesome casserole that has sausage, eggs, hash browns, and cheese.  It's going to be so fab.  Delicious.

She's pissed because we originally had a plan and then life happened and we had to change it.  She wants us to open gifts without DS and that is NOT going to happen.  No one is getting left out of gift opening.  I don't think that's right.  So in order for everyone to be together to open gifts we had to bump turkey dinner to the next day.  That's what she's unhappy about.  And I don't really care if she's unhappy or not.  She can deal or not deal.  She's only hurting herself.

I can't believe she said she doesn't want your "f-ing breakfast sh***." She needs to learn some respect.

Your DN needs to get over herself. She sounds like my FIL in a way. He wants everything his way regardless. As such, he misses out on a lot. He missed our 4th of July celebration because he wasn't in control of everything.

She will only have herself to blame for missing out. I love breakfast for dinner. Her loss.

I am PO'd too.  DH is livid.  I am so frustrated and angry.  Every holiday is nightmare.  I'm sure others here with grown children understand.  We have to consult our schedule to see when we have SS FIRST.  We don't have a choice in that.  Then we have to coordinate everyone else's schedule.  It's NOT easy.  No one did this on purpose.  She's being selfish and mean.  I don't get it.

Yep.  That's what she said.  She's being very disrespectful.  And we ARE having turkey.  Just not the same day.  Life happens.  She needs to learn that.  It wasn't a personal insult.  She just needs to grow up.

All families have to juggle to accomodate schedules.  It is a fact of life everyone knows.  She better get used to it or she is in for a very disappointed life.  She also needs to learn a little respect.  She can't go around ruining holidays because of her attitude.  My best advice to you is to shake it off & go right on with you plans & try not to give her any more thought.  She is most likely not fretting about her nasty remarks.

The other thing that they are doing this year that is crappy, is they are offering free screenings to guild members instead of sending out a hard copy. We have only gotten 6 dvds so far.

We're having Christmas with the kids on Sunday, the 28th. We have split families and everyone wants attention on Christmas Day. I really don't give a flip about the date, I care about the day. And if we have to wait 3 days so that everyone will be together then so be it. MY Christmas will be on Sunday. Being together is more important. Your DN needs a slap upside the head. Of course you are not going to leave DS out...

Yes she does.  Wanna come do it!!!!????

Because it's not really Christmas unless you push yourself to the brink of diabetes!

The God of Reading smiled on me! I went to B&N and the parking lot was a nightmare so I decided it wasn't worth it & was leaving when the very first spot right in front of the door opened up. So I took that as a sign. The place was jam packed like a night club so I still wasn't sure I wanted to stick around when I found the two books I wanted side by side on a display. So I figured it was meant to be. Yay I got the new John Grisham & Stephen King books. Four day weekend with awesome new reads!!
