DH has to work. I'll be stuck at home without a car (DS1 borrowed it).

Ho hum...

Good morning flan, SB and DE. Mr.VoR left early this morning. I haven't slept yet so I'm going to bed. Dr. Appointment this afternoon. The kidneys aren't behaving as usual.

Maudlin Monday might bring out the drama queens! Watch out!

Back to work today after a wonderful week off.

Hopefully no drama. But a boatload of work, though!

Gotta get a whole lot of year end stuff done.

Have a fab day everybody!

A much-needed day off for me! Still in bed while the bf makes waffles with his new waffle iron that yours truly got for him. Later, going to make a nice lunch, put dinner in my crock pot to cook, and go to a movie with my sister. Hobbit, here we come!

Good morning, everyone. I sent Bunny to school today even though we usually all stay home together until after the new year.
I'm pretty sure I have bronchitis, though and Husband has a bunch of stuff to do today. I just can't keep up with the kid right now. Going to the doctor this afternoon, staying in bed until then.
I hope y'all are having a good Monday.

Good morning, everyone!

It's chilly this morning. I'm going to wait for it to warm up a bit, and try to get a walk in.

And, I'm out of leftovers. So I'll have to come up with something to make for dinner. Hmmm. I'll have to ponder that for a bit. I don't know what I'm in the mood for.

Oh well. Have a good Monday, Good Geeks!wink

home with the family today. Boys are watching Looney Tunes, Mr. FNW is napping. We got up early to go to breakfast while the maids cleaned the house. Boys have swim lessons later and then allergy shots. #1's asthma has been acting up over a week. Yesterday I flogged his room...cleaned every crevice. Seems much better today and he slept without any attacks. Been debating whether he should swim and get his shots...

Good morning ladies.
Tang, sorry you are so sick. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
FNW, I hope your boys can enjoy swimming today despite getting allergy shots. The shots do not sound like fun.
I'm feeling much better today. I can eat and drink without feeling like I want to barf.
It is cold and snowing here this morning. Sounds like a bad week for us weather wise. More snow and subzero temps are on the way.
I need to think of something to bake today..

FNW - you have maids??? As in maidS?!
Oh my! What I wouldn't give to have someone come in and help me clean.
I'm thinking of asking DH to spring for a one-time clean-up by something like Merry-Maids for my birthday - has anyone ever used them? Opinion?

Tang - hope you feel better quickly.

Good morning.

No self pitying going on here. It's a gorgeous day. Peaceful and wonderful. Thankful for another day.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Saw this on Facebook and liked it, thought I would share it.

All those working, get something done.
All those traveling, get home safely.
All those sick, get well soon.
All those mad, get over it.

Have a great day everyone.

I keep forgetting to wear my glasses. They are sitting right here next to me, and I forget about them. I guess I'll get used to them. Eventually

I think my biggest problem is I don't really need them to see, so I don't notice when I'm not wearing them

Maids as in Merry Maids.  They come every other week. I've used them for 11 years.

The job they do depends on the crew.  The crew we had at our condo were excellent.  The crew we have had here at our house are okay.  They don't use bleach, so I have to use comet bleach on them myself.  I guess I could leave the can out and they would use it, just never thought about it.  They only seem to vacuum the traffic areas, and I find dust bunnies under the beds, so they must not go under areas that cannot be seen.

Interestingly, when we first hired the crew at the condo, they insisted on doing an initial cleaning, which was very thorough.  They wanted the cleaning to be up to their standards before they started.  But the crew at the house did not require it.   Unfortunately, even though the house and condo are not too far apart, they are located in different franchise territories, so we could not use the old condo crew at the house, if that makes sense.

The crew consists of 2-3 people.  They take 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours to clean our 3,000 square feet home.

But it seems if you have to go back and clean after they clean it isn't worth it. Why not make them do it better? It should be up to YOUR standards.

Lol. I really don't need them to see.  But the eye doctor says even though I won't see a difference, using the glasses will put less stress on my eyes and slow down the rate my vision is worsening.

Yep.  Within two years I went from a little blurry to Huh?

After waiting an hour for my doctor, I rescheduled. I would have been waiting at least 20 more minutes. That's unacceptable. So, I'm scheduled for Wednesday at noon.

I'm on call starting at midnight. Had just drifted off to sleep at 10 and the nursing supervisor calls. They are coming in now to do a case. No way will they be done by 12. I've showered and gathered all my stuff. Just gonna finish the case and curl up in the lounge instead of spending an hour going home and back. Normally we get 8 hours off after a call case but we are short handed due to the holidays and the flu...

Had such a fun weekend with my auntie! We went to the "big city mall" to comb for boxing day bargains. The shelves were pretty picked clean, but I got a great pair of leather boots for under $100, a bunch of great makeup from Sephora for $100 and then 4 pairs of pants and a sweater for $100. Not a bad day!

My aunt got a gorgeous pair of fresh-water pearl earrings and some makeup. She also picked out a pair of diamond solitaire earrings that she will send my uncle to go buy later . . .

Hope you feel better soon Tang! Yuck on winter bronchitis. Same for you Czech. And I hope you get a good night's sleep SB!

But you had already been there an hour. What would 20more minutes have hurt? Now you have to start over with the waiting.
