I think that's pretty standard, chef. I can remember the anemia test, and the lead is for people who live in homes (or attend day care in places) that were built before a certain year.

I figured it was standard. Thanks for the reassurance
Oh I see. I don't remember doing that.. not that it didn't happen, lol. I just don't remember.
I'm trying to forget, lol! He screamed bloody murder during the blood draw. I wish it were possible to explain to a one year old that yes it hurts but the hurt will go away.
Too bad they couldn't do a heel prick like they did for his newborn blood work. The phlebotomist pricked his heel and he jerked his foot then farted.
I hope I don't get sick. That's the last thing I need right now. I went to a friend's house Monday before Christmas, and on Christmas Eve, she texted me to say she had the flu. Luckily I haven't come down with it myself. Then this last Friday, I went in to work, worked the full 3 hours, and the other librarian was coming down with something. I don't know for sure what she has, but she said she had to go to urgent care on Sunday, I had to work all of Monday, and looks like I will have to work all day tomorrow by myself as well. I really hope she doesn't have the flu. I got the flu shot, but not surprisingly, it isn't effective this year. I've never gotten the flu shot before, and I will be really upset if I get the flu. I'm finally getting a lot stronger and this would be a huge setback for me.

I sure hope you don't get sick, TLC. I know the flu is around and the shot is useless. We have influenza A in our area and the flu shot was ineffective for this strain. One of my friends seven month old baby is in the hospital now with the flu.
Good luck, TLC.

I think tomorrow is supposed to be even colder. BRRR!
flan
It's suppose to be colder here as well. It's -4 out there right now.
Brrrrrr for sure. We are NOT used to something like that here - today's high was a cold-for-here 42, about 10 degrees below the norm. I wimped out from my walk because I feel so chilled, and now I'm ashamed.

Maggie is usually the sweetest, most docile dog ever. She is very submissive to us.
I did ask the Vet if I should be worried, because Maggie is DD6's dog. They are best friends and inseparable. The Vet said that she doesn't think there is anything to worry about, she thinks it's just dog scuffles. If Maggie ever showed aggression to a human then we would re evaluate.
I hope all are ok
Corgi is severely dog-aggressive. He is completely seperated from the other dogs in the house. However, he is fine with people and great with kids. Nephew has sat on him, whapped him on the head, pulled his ears, stuck his fist in Corgi's mouth, and Corgi has never made any type of agressive move towards Nephew.
Thank you for telling me that DG. It makes me feel better to know that it doesn't mean she will be aggressive towards humans. She is usually friends with Molly though. They play together and hang out together fine a lot of the time, even tonight when DH brought Molly home, Maggie was following DH (who was carrying Molly) wagging her tail and trying to smell her.
Update is she came home with 5 staples in her head, some pain meds, antibiotics and a steroid for her eye. She is feeling very snuggly.

Stop that nonsense right now!

I agree with flan. Stop that. We are all adapted to our climate area. You really would freeze to death here, in 0.32 seconds flat.
42 degrees IS cold for your area. I'm wimping out here, so you can wimp out there.

Poor thing.
I'm glad she's home though.

Home from church. The women missed me last month. I think I was sick so I didn't go. I don't remember exactly. They said I looked really happy. And they teased me about DH being home. They adored my King Ranch Chicken. I was gone three and a half hours. DH met me in the driveway! He said, "I don't know how you do this every day!" lol All he had to was microwave leftover pizza and feed them. He's funny.

I know some dogs stay out all the time. I see dogs on those Alaskan shows that live outside. They are not pets. They are work dogs. And they survive just fine. I just can't imagine making my pets stay out in the extra cold or extra hot weather.

Maggie loves being outside, there are times I have to stand at the door when I let her out so that I can call her right back in. But she's in for the night, she's already asleep.

Aw, thanks Flan & Czech! I'm going to try for a walk when I get home today, all bundled up. I've just been exposed to so many people who are sick that I didn't want to do anything that might lower my immune system. Poor Mindy (dad's big dog) is simply devastated when we don't stick with our walk routine, LOL!
