From NBC news online:

"One of the suspects in the Paris attack on Charlie Hebdo magazine has been killed and the two others are in custody, two senior U.S. counterterrorism officials told NBC News on Wednesday.

Authorities earlier had identified the three men as Said Kouachi and Cherif Kouachi, both French and in their early 30s, and Hamyd Mourad, 18, whose nationality wasn't immediately clear."

Doesn't say where they were apprehended.

Blankie, I have been unable to find a report that the terrorists have been captured.
That doesn't mean it's not true, the other news media's may be waiting for further confirmation.

Ed, I do not think they are afraid of anything. The afterlife seems to be what they are looking at and this present life is only to be used to convert all the world to Islam. If you do not care about material comfort, family, friends.....

Was it Burns or Just Czech that said the rest of the Muslim world has to stand up to these terrorists and start to get them under control.... Until then, we are just whistling in the dark. These people in cells around the world do not wear signs, in fact, they seem to blend in very well in their neighborhoods... All the while waiting for the signal to go on whatever mission they have been assigned to... Perhaps even other Muslims cannot tell who are the terrorists until they take action....

regards WWII, the FREE French ( not Vichy ) were truly a force to be reckoned with--their courage and resourcefulness against the germans is legendary

I'm going to take exception to a lot of this. The French supported us during our revolution for their own purposes, it was not at all altruistic, and abandoned us in battle when their own pursuits rose.

The Free French refused to take part in the D-Day landings in Normandy.

They may have been a world power to be reckoned with in history, but they have always looked out only for themselves while looking down on others.

I agree with LL. The French have a habit of just letting things happen (because they're soooo progressive of course) and then waiting for their allies to bail them out. I'm sure we'll do it again because we're America and that's what we do.

Well, France and other European countries have chosen to live in the LaLa Land of Socialism and like to pretend they can wish away the evils of the world. Well, America take note! We are heading down the same path. Eventually, with the influx of immigrants and changing population, Europe is going by the wayside. Do you think the Muslim culture cares about anything? What exactly are the great contributions of Islam to the world in terms of science, the arts, progress for humanity, etc? I expect as they take hold, they will seek to destroy French culture.

Hmmm, interesting. I found it on nbcnews.com last night.

Maybe some over-eager person jumped the gun and posted it prematurely. Maybe the "two senior U.S. counterterrorism officials" who told NBC news that, were wrong. Who knows?

I read that the getaway driver turned himself in yesterday. I haven't seen that they've captured the two gunmen.

"French security forces on Friday stormed a printing factory outside Paris where the brothers suspected in the Charlie Hebdo terror attack were cornered for seven hours with a hostage. Two police sources told NBC News that the brothers were killed and one hostage was freed.

In a coordinated assault, police also raided a kosher market in the capital where a gunman had taken an unknown number of hostages. The fate of the hostage-taker at the market was not clear. Authorities suggested he was connected to the brothers, Cherif and Said Kouachi. "

That's the first I've heard of hostages.

They were talking about that early this morning. I think there are 7 or so...

Now they are saying there is a fourth gunman who escaped the market attack. And the woman terrorist is still missing as well.

sincerely believe if that sort of attack had occurred around here SOMEONE would have stepped out of their vehicle and killed at least one of the shooters outright--can't imagine that sort of thing going down like it did in paris should it occur around here

why not put a bounty on gunners like them ? say $100k apiece ? think what we'd save vs the cost of holding / trying / incarcerating them

I can't find the article on it because sadly, there isn't one. But that horrible Egyptian dictator came out and said something about how the Islam nation has to act against these terrorists since they are making the world afraid of their peaceful religion. Good for him!

There are no Muslim nations. No physical country. Just 1.6 billion spread across the world. that is the danger. We are not fighting a country per se, but people all over the place.

That's the problem. The fact that 23% of the worlds population are Muslim and they ALLOW less than 3% (anywhere from 3% to 12% depending on which site I could find) to define their religion is mind boggling. Why do they allow this minority to hijack their supposedly peaceful religion? If I could answer this question I'd win the Noble Peace prize...lol

Well that's not true, at all. There are many Muslim nations that not only have large majorities of Muslim people--but have incorporated many parts of their religions--sharia law, into their government's laws.

Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen, Bahrain--plus several others who are currently fighting to determine the course of their government--Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, and even Indonesia.

Yep. Yemen and Maldives come to mind immediately. In Maldives, sharia law REQUIRES all citizens to be Muslim. In both, Islam dictates the legal systems.
