I have off. We got the day after NY off because of the timing. Usually we work that day. We work half a day on both the Eves & I don't remember if we get off early Good Friday or not.
I honestly can't complain too much. We do get a half day Christmas Eve. And then we are of until the first week of the year, so my complaints do seem a little selfish.

I will be working. But like others have said, we get all kinds of other days off...Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving - day before and day after, etc. And yes, the way New Years fell this year, changed the schedule for sure.

I don't work outside the home and DH is unemployed so nothing will change. We will have SS an extra day because of the holiday.

What is this "day off" thing you speak of? Our shop will be open normal hours. I think UPS still delivers that day.
Sadly, even when we aren't "open" to the public, we are often still working, either catching up quotes and orders, or doing production work. Such is the condition of being small business owners.

Has he gotten his child support reduced?
He filed the paperwork. It takes six months to get a court date. So it will be six months before they hear his case and change the order. He asked the ombudsman if they agreed to it together could they just come in and fill out the paperwork on that and sign it. He said yes but it wouldn't be legal until it went before the judge and unofficial orders like this take about nine months.

Since I'm retired, I'll use Monday to help the Meals-on-Wheels employees do a marathon clean-up of the kitchen they rent from the Knights of Columbus - you can't imagine the crud that other (weekend) renters leave behind.
I have MLK day off, and am looking forward to a 3-day weekend. My workplace observes 9 holidays a year. We had to choose between MLK Day and Discoverer's Day to be a holiday, and picked MLK day. Since my company has a national presence, we have to be open on state holidays, so none of those for us.
