Ok, my husband whom I adore went out and bought a ton of ground beef, turkey and lamb because it was on sale and now I have a freezer full. So besides the stand by's of shepards pie, meatloaf and burgers can I get some of your favorite ground meat recipes?
Do you like Stroganoff? I have come up with a "fake" Stroganoff. It takes about 20-30 minutes.
Brown some ground meat. drain.
While browning the meat, boil some pasta. Which ever pasta you like.
drain that.
Add the two together and mix in 1 can of beefy mushroom soup and two cans cream of mushroom.
That is for a pound of pasta and a pound of meat.
Heat it through.
Don't forget to season the meat and pasta while cooking.
I sometimes steam some broccoli and stir it in to get a veggie in.

Pick a ground meat, brown and season about a pound. Drain.
In a pot add a can of diced tomatoes, mild rotel, taco seasoning and dry ranch mix.
Pick a starch like whole kernel corn, a pasta, or potatoes.
Add a green veggie. I like okra but green beans will work or peas or what ever you like.
And a third veggie you like.
Simmer together till done and enjoy with crackers or cornbread or whatever.

A pound of ground meat, mix with your favorite seasoning.
Add slightly cooked onions and bell peppers.
An egg and bread crumbs.
Make meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
Bake till done.
Make enough so you can freeze some.
Put some in a pot with your favorite marinara sauce. Simmer through.
Serve on toasted bun with provolone and mozzarella.

You could make up some patties and freeze them for this summer.

We got ground beef on sale too. I'm making a massive pot of chili tonight and we'll freeze or can some. I also plan on making taco pie.

I picked up some 80/20 Sunday. It was 4.99 a pound.
The 78/22 was 5.99 a pound.
Crazy huh?

Some times I can get the 93% at about 4 a pound. But I like the 80/20 better.
But if I am making something I don't want to shrink up a lot I use the 93%. It makes better chopped steaks.

Blame Husker for the price/. What is his reason for this?
I have no idea. But we got some 83/17 on sale the other day for $2.99/lb. We thought we hit the jackpot.

We have the house fridge plus a fridge in our garage and a small chest freezer in the garage.
We stopped stocking up on bread since I got the bread maker so now we have more space.

We used to buy it at the store when they had the really good loaves on sale. Usually the Pepperidge Farms. Then we would freeze it. They routinely sold it for less than a dollar. But I make better bread now.
