Look, I'm a born and bred Alabama fan. But when they got caught cheating, I didn't make excuses, I didn't whine that people were being sore losers. I still supported my team, (after they had cleaned house), but I didn't defend them or try to make excuses.
Alabama got wins vacated. They paid a LOT more that the Pats are going pay in fines. The lost scholarships for YEARS in addition to losing bowl eligibility for years.
The Pats know the no matter what they do, it will be a slap on the wrist. They will get fined, they will lose a couple of drafts picks. So what? They cheat, they don't care. They are the bottom of the barrel of the NFL in terms of honorability. But if you (general you) want to keep supporting them and making excuses, go right ahead. The rest of the country thinks they are pu**ies...

LOL, if the NFL doesn't see it as a problem, why does anyone else. Cause you hate the Pat's you you are on the "I hate Pat's" train. Still love you though. Pretty sure what I am sending you for Christmas!

We aren't bad arses, just like to spar! Although, given the chance, her front yard will be decorated in Pat's stuff on Feb 1. Can I hire someone for that? Kind of like pink flamingos but instead will be Brady and Belicheik flamingos.

They obviously do or they wouldn't be investigating it. We'll have to see what the outcome is in a couple of days. BTW, I don't hate the Pats. Tom Brady was my fantasy QB two years in a row. Last year I had Danny Amendola and Shane Vereen. So I'm obviously not a hater because I NEVER draft any Steelers players because I hate them. lol. I do hate the fact that the play shady. They don't need to.

But a 25K fine says that it isn't a problem with the NFL, 25K is just an attempt to placate haters. Not the NFL. If it were a problem to them they would replay the game or ban Belichieik

A 25k fine is the penalty for this offense. Losing draft picks could happen. Doesn't mean the NFL doesn't see it as a problem. That's just the policy they have in place for this. Doesn't mean they are poo pooing it like it's no big deal. Maybe they'll change their policy. We'll have to see what happens.

They have to investigate if there is a complaint. This is just a lot of hype about nothing.

This isn't a lot of hype about nothing. I'm not surprised you can't see that because your vision is clouded. I would be interested in your reaction if the Colts won the game and then you find out they played with deflated balls that someone who works for the Colts may have tampered with after the balls were checked. I don't think you would think it was nothing. But you're not going to admit it here.

The Colts don't have the hatred against them the Pat's do. As I have previously posted, I don't care. But what I do know that in any sports situation, the unpopular team always get accusations thrown at them. If a billion dollar industry is concerned so little to impose a 25K find, the "offense" isn't that bad and in fact must be common. The haters of the Pats are the ones that are bringing this to the front, not the NFL. Perhaps you are clouded by your Pat's hate.

Alabama has to be THE most hated team in the pros and college combined. But I didn't support them when they were blatantly cheating. This love affair with the Pats is mind boggling. Maybe its a Northern thing...

The one that brought this to the front was D'Quell Jackson that caught the intercepted ball and noticed that it didn't feel right and told his coach, who told the head coach, who told the officials and they checked the balls. They did that at half time. 11 of the 12 Patriot balls were noticeably deflated, while the Colts balls weren't. I don't blame D'Quell Jackson one bit for that. You are getting as bad as Obama supporters calling haters racist. I hope you see that.

You both are just to much fun!!
Put Brady and Belicheik heads on those flamingos arses.

Sad. Apparently not a lot of real football fans around here because it's a joke when the integrity of the game is fvcked with. I really don't think it's funny but you guys can all laugh and call those that don't agree with you haters. I will wait until the NFL ruling and I will respect that.
I don't thinks its funny at all. But I'm not going to fight with my friends over this. IKWTDS and I are close and I'm not about to get mad at her over football. Seriously????

I'm not mad. I said I was sad. Seriously. What??? Am I supposed to say something funny so you guys like me? I was trying to have an honest conversation. I realize that my thoughts and posts aren't popular, but this subject is serious to me. I'm sorry if I've rubbed anyone the wrong way. I thought we were discussing. I didn't realize I had to do it a certain way.
I don't like to have my comments dismissed either btw... and called a hater. Don't call me a hater because I've never hated the Patriots. But right now, I feel I'm being pushed in that direction.

Oh great, bring it into politics now, you sound like the message boards on online newspapers now. Keep that crap off this board or at least of this thread. It is a game, not politics.

OK, then stop with the "haters" thing in regards to people who don't like the Patriots. I used to like the Patriots quite a bit but no I am not going to support a team who has a coach who is history of cheating. And, that are only the things they have found out. I am sure if they dug deeper, cheaters are usually quite good at covering their tracks. But, calling people "haters" because they want to call out cheaters, well who is "politicizing"?
No, people are sick of them cheating and getting away with it. I didn't have any angst towards them until they were found cheating and laughed about it...

In 2012, nearly five years removed from the incident, former Jets head coach Eric Mangini stated that "I think when you look at the history of success that [the Patriots] had after that incident, it’s pretty obvious that it didn’t play any type of significant role in the victories [the Patriots] had or the success that [the Patriots] had." As of the conclusion of the 2011 NFL season, the Patriots had the best record in the NFL since Spygate, compiling a 48-16 record from 2008-11 (the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints were second best over that span at 45-19).
Mangini was employed by the Patriots as an assistant coach and has three Super Bowl rings with the team.
The Patriots won 69.3 percent of their games while they were presumably taping signals; they have won 75.6 percent of games after the spygate scandal.[29]
If it didn't play any significant role, then why cheat in the first place? Whether it made a difference or not in their win/loss record is irrelevant. There are rules and sportsmanship. Doing this kind of schit violates the integrity of the game, the sport and the league. Belicheat should have FIRED after spygate, period.
