If the balls were deflated why didn't the officials notice? They handle the ball every play. They feel balls every week. Don't you think they can tell the difference between normal balls and under inflated balls?

You would not tell buy just handling the ball, you would need to squeeze them.
The balls were checked so they were under pressured. So, either the refs could not tell or ignored them.

While the evidence thus far supports the conclusion that footballs that were under-inflated were used by the Patriots in the first half, the footballs were properly inflated for the second half and confirmed at the conclusion of the game to have remained properly inflated.
Belichek sounded like an idiot trying to describe the physics.
Bill Nye called him on it!

I saw calculations on the Ideal Gas Law. If the balls were inflated at 70 degrees and let cool outside to 50 degrees there could be a 0.4 PSI drop. Using that I imagine you would need to rub the football during prep enough to raise the temperature 40 degrees from 70 to 110.
My theory is the refs inspect the balls and did not check the pressure at the beginning. There were underinflated in the beginning and the refs allowed them.
Did you ever think that all the hype is just hype?
I'm quite sure it has probably happened before and has never been called out. But I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that 11 of 12 balls would deflate that much without help - on only one team's side.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
The problem I have is that I think they've been playing with deflated balls all season. So............. the game before this one, against the Ravens where the Ravens lost by 4 points... I have a problem with. Because Brady had an unfair advantage, playing with his deflated balls. lol. Not right. Everyone's balls should be the same.
Well, you can bet your balls that all the footballs at the Super Bowl will be checked and rechecked and probably in ref's custody before and during the game.
And it will be interesting if the Pats still win. Will not surprise me.
I don't think the deflated balls affected the Pats/Colts game all that much. All balls were fine throughout the whole second half, and the Pats still creamed them.

But still... the Ravens lost to those cheaters.
Yes, indeed they did!
If the Pats were such a great team, they wouldn't NEED to cheat.
DH told me last night that he was going to "boycott" the Super Bowl.
For him NOT to watch it...that's serious.

Yep! We canceled our party. It's the first time since we've been married that we haven't had a blow out party (usually 30-50 people, depending on the weather). We're not into it this year. We just don't care. The Pats will probably win. Hopefully, this will cause the sponsors to lose money. Maybe then someone will take this seriously...

I really REALLY hope that when they walk out on the field, the crowd boos.

Advertising has already been booked and paid for. No one is going to lose money for the Super Bowl. Perhaps a few will not watch pro ball next year, but that will be temporary. People have short memories and love the game way too much.

I know advertising has been paid. But since far fewer people are going to watch, their money will not be well spent.

Obviously people don't care about cheating or the integrity of the game. I won't be watching. But just expect more and moreccorruption or maybe people no longer care.
Why are they guilty until proven innocent? There hasn't been one single piece of proof presented but because they're so hated you've all already presumed guilt. You say don't call you all haters but it sure seems that way to me. Where is the PROOF? I can make any claim I want against any other team and you wouldn't just believe it without PROOF!

This. Trial by media and public opinion holds no water. It's disappointing that so many of you are participating in it, with the lack of any hard evidence.

Even if Belichick was caught cheating once before?

What are you talking about? There is no doubt that the balls were underinflated. There's no argument about that. They didn't just get that way by themselves.
Just because the Pats won't be penalized for cheating doesn't mean they didn't.

Is this proof good enough for you? It looks like the ball boy took the 24 balls into a private bathroom. I guess we'll have to wait and see if they release video.
