Most of our good places are downtown. I am not driving 45 minutes to get Captain D's.

That sounds so good.  I am currently unable to eat spinach due the medication I am on.  I go back to the doctor on the 5th though.  I'm wondering if she's going to change it.

OKAY! LOL...

What are you going to fry?

I don't deep fry. It scares me.

Skillet frying is easy though.

Hope it turns out for you. Keep the fire extinguisher near by. wink

Captain D's wasn't good for a long time. I actually worked at this one when I was younger. Actually I worked there when I got married.

Any way. They have revamped and bettered their offerings. We don't go often, I think this was the first time in over a year. Maybe that is why it was good?

I like asparagus. But I cant cook it.

I love cubed steak. But I cant fry it and it be tender.

I hope it works for you.

I put my cubed steak in the oven. I spray the baking dish, put a table spoon of butter(I'm in the south, we put butter in EVERYTHING), I slice up an onion and sprinkle that over the tops. Salt, pepper and garlic powder over that. and then one can of beefy mushroom soup. Cover with foil and bake it in the oven at 325 for about 2 hours. I turn the temp down if I need to. I falls apart.

Lily, that sounds like it would be wonderful even WITHOUT the steak. smile

Does it come out tender and easy to chew? I suspect that I've never had cube steak prepared properly.

YES! It is sooo tender. My dad has false teeth and he says it is easy for him to eat.

You can actually use the fork to get a piece off to eat.

Just try it. It is sooo good and sooo easy.

It's my spinach deprived mind!  I got a greek salad the other day and it had spinach in it.  I paid.  For days.

My first attempt at chicken fried steak was DELICIOUS! I've never done it before. I'm not a big fan of frying. I kind of modified the recipe. I sprayed a baking pan with Pam and then I coated the cube steak and just browned the coating. After that I put it in the baking pan to cook in the oven. It was wonderful! DH commented that I had never made it before and I'd be making it a lot more often now. He thinks SS will love it. There was one piece left and he says that will be his midnight snack.

Thanks! Never made chicken fried steak before! I'm proud of myself! I enjoy experimenting but am always bummed when something fails or is just not as good as you hoped.

So I talked with both my supervisors at work today and told them how it felt to sit through a meeting where I and my entire team were basically called irrelevent by our medical director. And I told them both how disappointed I was that they didn't stand up for us. I had a nice chat with them about 'inclusive language' and how we have been working so hard to build a culture of being a multidisciplinary team and that in a 10 second comment they allowed everything to be set back.

They both apologized to me for not standing up for my team, and I told them that it's not about ME. I don't need an apology just for me - I need it to be publicly acknowledged that what was said was untrue and inappropriate and that our team has significant value to the treatment facility. I also asked that the medical director be reprimanded (I ended up settling for 'talked to') regarding his comments and that his participation in our organization be reviewed on the basis of our culture.

I feel better. Another coworker went to them and complained about the medical directors comments as well.

I am TRYING to be a good girlfriend and let my bf sleep uninterrupted before he goes to work. But I am cold. And tired. AND WANT TO SNUGGLE.
Five more minutes, and I am going to bed and demanding love and snugs.

Ok, so now I want to move to TX. Just for fun, I went to look at houses there and found some beautiful listings. And they are way cheaper than they would be here.

Why do all the houses there have fireplaces? Has everyone been lying to me about the heat there?

Just had this conversation yesterday NAOW. Housing here is very inexpensive. For the most part. There are some exceptions. But if you are just looking for say a normal 3-2-2 ranch style they are reasonable.
