I have seen really simple ones and very elaborate ones. They can be DIY or cost 1000's of dollars.
What I like, is it can be made with family pieces and added to and passed down. Even if they are not carried, they would make an awesome way to honor those no longer with us.
I would have loved to have something like that.

Some would have to be heavy. I was looking at some the other night and they were made with lots of heavy soldering under it. Those would be heavy.
But others were made it heavy gage floral wire and pre made foam molds.
One DIY was made with heavy floral wire and a section of a pool noodle and the base was wrapped to cover the noodle.
C is not a big flower girl so I thought if I start collecting brooches now, and add the ones I have from grandparents, she could have an awesome bouquet.

I was thinking that after the wedding you could give a brooch to each bridesmaid, or to the MOB, and MIL, the flower girl...as a keepsake. I don't know what I would do personally with all of those lovely brooches of a similar style/color. Giving them away like that would be a lovely gesture.

C and I were talking about it. It could be added onto each time it is used. And even if it is not carried with each wedding, it could be displayed.
I think it would be an amazing way to have past generations "with you" on a special day.
They use all kinds of things to make them. Not just brooches. They use ear rings and necklaces too.
I saw one, and I wish I could find it again, that had what looked like a pin or something like that from every thing the couple had done together.
It had little flag pins from different states and countries, family pieces, souvenir buttons in it. There were lockets with pictures of what looked like different couples, some looked really old. and it was just really neat.
C is not a flower kind of girl so this seems like a wonderful alternative. Someday.
