Bobbi Kristina Brown has been placed in a medically induced coma for swelling of the brain, a procedure that suggests she is in far more serious condition than previously reported, and likely close to death.

Brown, 21, came close to drowning, according to medical references, which can cause swelling of the brain and neurological damage.

It’s unknown at the moment how long Brown was submerged in water. According to reports, she was face-down in the tub and was not breathing when she was discovered by her husband Nick Gordon at around 10:30 a.m. this morning.

Fears that Bobbi Kristina Brown is dead are being raised after a source at a Georgia hospital claimed that Whitney Houston’s daughter was brain dead after being found unconscious in a bathtub on Saturday.


Brown was found face down and unconscious in a tub full of water, reports indicated. Her husband, Nick Gordon, was were able to revive her and Brown was rushed to a hospital, where she was placed in a medically-induced coma while suffering brain swelling, TMZ reported.

Family members rushed to her side on Saturday, and reports began circulating that Bobbi Kristina Brown was near death.

An unnamed source told the urban gossip site MediaTakeOut that Brown will not be able to recover.


“MediaTakeOut.com just EXCLUSIVELY spoke to a hospital worker at North Fulton Hospital, where Bobbi is staying. We’re told that Bobbi Kristina is ‘brain dead.’ The worker, who asked to remain anonymous told MediaTakeOut.com exclusively, ‘She lost oxygen to her brain for too long – she’s not going to be able to recover.’ We asked if the worker was SURE about Bobbi’s condition, and they replied, ‘Yes, very sure.’

“We’re also told that father Bobby Brown, and family friends including Tyler Perry are at her bedside, praying for a miracle. Let’s all say a special prayer for Bobbi tonight.”

Many outlets reported that police suspect Bobbi Kristina Brown suffered a drug overdose, but police have reportedly found no drugs at the scene.

Brown’s mother, Whitney Houston, died under eerily similar conditions nearly three years ago. The singer was found unconscious in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel after taking a strong combination of drugs. Her cause of death was listed as drowning.

“Obviously we all know her mom died this very same way,” said Lisa Holland of the Roswell PD. “Can’t say how sad this is. It’s a difficult situation for police officer to perform CPR on any person.”

Other sources seem to confirm the report that Bobbi Kristina Brown will likely die. A source close to the family told Hollywood Life that doctors fear the worst.

“It does not look good. We don’t think Bobbi Kristina is going to pull through,” the source said.

While fears are continuing to grow, doctors have not said publicly if Bobbi Kristina Brown is brain dead, and her condition was officially listed as stable

Both of these women made decisions that may/did cost them their lives.  Mr. Brown didn't drown either of them.

Perhaps. I agree he didn't shove the drugs down her throat and she willingly took them. But, some people are more easily influenced than others.

 I agree.  Whitney Houston was an adult and she made the choice to do drugs. 

 

People can't have the argument both ways - saying a person is "hard-wired" to be an addict, and then blaming someone else for their addiction.  Of course, I don't think either is valid.

Of course it was intentional. Whitney was an accidental death. This is a suicide attempt, possibly a successful attempt.

And Whitney is also responsible for modeling drugs to her daughter as well.
