AS long as there is snow - wreaths are appropriate.

The snow is beautiful as long as someone else has to shovel it.

Great boots LL.

Halfway through the big spring cleaning. I have a ton to do for DH and the tournament this week, literally working a full day at work and then coming home and doing another 8 hours for the tournament and THEN all the regular stuff around the house. Some coaches are worried about not being able to get in due to the flight cancellations.

The coach from DD's top choice will be coming too. So she is getting a bit nervous, even though she has nothing to worry about.

MM, glad the spring cleaning is going so well for you. I bet you all have a fantastic weekend.

IKWTDS, your pictures are beautiful. But, there is so much snow!! Gosh, no wonder you are worn out from shoveling and snow blowing.

Whomever has the thin mints, please, send some this way! I'm craving those darn things..

LL, the boots are gorgeous!

I have to agree, even after my Elvis comment.  I love the shade of blue.  I want some slouch boots but have to find ones that don't look like DD's.  She has already laid down the law on my getting similar boots to hers.

Funny story.  School was delayed today.  My neighbor asked if I could stay with DD and her friend at the bus stop (it's in front of the house).  So I planned on doing the final snow clearing after the bus came.  I was wearing my whole get up including my elmer fudd hat and goggles.  DD told me to stay in my driveway while she stood with her friend in friend's driveway.  She was mortified with my outfit. Hey, gotta stay warm and dry!

I've been doing the same.  It is so bitterly cold.  I don't know what is going through their minds.  Maybe it won't be so cold this time?  Or it might be warmer out the front door than the back?

What really drives me nuts is when I open the door, and they stand there, waiting. Trying to decide if they want to go out, or not.no

Or, when they knock on the door to come in. And I open the door, and, they just sit on the step.no

It's like, make up my mind already!

Silly furballs!

I want to go out but when I look outside, I change my mind. Everything is covered in snow which means as soon as I go outside my shoes and crutches will get wet, then when I go inside the store or back in my house, I might as well be walking on ice. I HATE snow! I've been in the house and haven't left since Saturday morning and I'm starting to go nuts! I would be happy going to the convenience store to get something to drink, but again, wet floors are treacherous.

Couldn't get out of the end of my street onto the main road this morning. Because of the goofballs who keep shoveling snow into the street when digging out their parked cars. What the fudge?

DS and I had to walk the snowblower down and snowblow the whole end of the street. Good samaritan task done for the day.

Main roads were surprisingly clear after the 14 inches we got yesterday. Nice work plow guys!

Maybe you could go to a drive thru so you don't have to walk on the slippery floor with wet crutches.  You can put a towel on your front porch so you can dry off before going back in the house.  Sounds like a bit of a PITA but if you really need to get out of the house.  I don't really get cabin fever.  I can stay in my house for a week straight without being bothered.

I wish those ideas would work, but I live in a small town, so no drive thru's. 2 convenience stores is about all we got. And, I don't have a porch, just uncovered steps into the house. I've tried a towel inside the house, and unless someone else helps me, it really doesn't work either. The towel slides on the tile. So I just don't go anywhere unless I have to, or decide it's worth the stress.

TLC, do you have a porch or other covered area that doesn't have snow? Just being outside for a little bit would help.

My DGD belonged to GS for several years, but decided not to be a member this year. They no longer sell door to door here, so we have to order online. I'm not doing that. So, I guess I will have to learn to live without thin mints. Dang it.

tlc, the ice is awful around here as well. Gosh, just melt please!!
Hope the ice and snow melts soon for you. I can understand the fear of falling. I fell a few years ago and it took months for me to recover. My hip was so out of whack!! You do not need that to happen to you.
Maybe you can ask a neighbor over for a visit. Would be good for both of you.

If we are keeping a tally of it, I don't like thin mints either. I don't really like any of the GS cookies anymore.

They just don't taste like they use to.

They will often times sell in front of the local grocery stores like Kroger.  Not Publix, though - Publix does not allow solicitation of any kind.
