Oh boy the dog is barking at the floor near the slider. That part of the house is over the garage. The wood floor near the slider wasn't put in correctly so there is a slight gap. I'm thinking there is a mouse.

I've got to go phone shopping with the boys, as soon as the AT&T store opens.
Not really sure what else we'll do today. It's supposed to be sunny and 73. We should try to get outside and enjoy it. A cold front is coming!
The craft fair and comedy show and Red Lobster, sound like fun!
The mouse, not so much.
Enjoy your day, everyone!
DH hates AT & T. (They really did screw us over.)
Sunny and 73...

I've been using AT&T since I got my first cell phone, back in 1997. I have never had a problem with them. (Now, I have some friends that had terrible service from Sprint. I would be afraid to change carriers.)
We've had a pretty mild winter, compared to last year. No ice storms or snow, so far. And, lots of above average days, temperature wise. (We should only have highs of 60, in February.)

I'm not clear about what a "slider" is (sliding patio door?), but what I really would like to understand is, if there's a gap, why haven't you filled it in?
Maybe get some copper wool (like steel wool but won't rust), stuff that in, then cover with spray foam insulation...
Mice can easily chew the foam, but as soon as they get to the copper wool, it stops them cold because it will cut up their mouths.

Yes, its a sliding glass patio door. The gap is only in the wood flooring, not the sub flooring. The previous owners put that floor in but didn't remove the trim on the bottom of the wall when they put the flooring in. When I moved in I had the slider put in so the trim was taken out so was left with a gap. To make it worse, there was the FHW baseboard heating that had to be moved to put the slider in. So there is a small hole in the floor where the plumbing used to come up for the heat. I haven't done anything about it because my plan is to replace the flooring. That will correct the situation. And yes, I should put steal wool in the hole.

Ya'll's plans sound nice. Hope everyone has the best time.
I am trying to get to the dump and store. A is going with me but he is taking a long time to get ready. Don't really blame him. It is only 31 right now.
I know. Not as cold as some of you but it is cold to us.
We are supposed to get all the way up to 52 today but I don't think we will. And sometime between tonight and Monday we supposed to get ice and snow.
Don't mind snow. Could live without the ice.
The best news is, if it does come a big ice and snow storm, the kids are out of school all week anyway.
One of you getting seafood have some scallops for me.
Now. Let do this day!

We have a Realtor coming to look at our house this morning, then we are going to go look at a few listings. We just want an idea of what we would be getting ourselves into, so no actually buying or listing our own house today.

Spending the day indoors doing nothing today, hopefully. Well, going to DD's boyfriend's game today. He is always very supportive and comes to her games. Going to watch him today. Then he is coming over for their Lady and the Tramp date. Hopefully it will be an uneventful day spent at home doing nothing. Best day ever.

Just got back from picking up my regular flowers for the altar at Church - my local HEB grocery store sold
$24,000 worth of flowers yesterday!
And they expect to beat that today!
Tiny, tiny little town (2 stop lights!) - they floral arrangements were just FLYING off the shelf! The girls in the floral department were working non-stop, just to keep up with special orders!
I couldn't find any babies' breath, which I normally use every week, and I asked one of the girls if they had any in the back. She replied that they were all out of it. Just then, the assistant manager of the department came over with a bunch of babies' breath - she knew I used it every week, and kept one bunch back, just for me! That's what I call CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!
We are headed north to a bigger car dealership my dad likes. I am so glad my dad is driving, it's snowing like crazy all of a sudden. I'd be a bit panicked by now, he's just gliding along. Going to put my nose back in the book to ignore the snow

What model are you interested in, DG?
I want to look at the Chevy Equinox. I drove the Buick Encore last week and liked it. But it's a little on the small side. Especially for the price.

I friend of mine got one last summer. It's very nice. I think you'll like it.
There are two? This was the first thread I saw this morning.
Oh well.
I made it to the dump and the grocery store.
For some reason the boy/cub scouts chose today to stand outside the store to collect for the food drive. With everyone going in and out it and they had both doors hemmed up. It was more than a little annoying.
I know they need the food. But they were in the way a lot. And the wind chill in bone rattling.
C is on her way to the zoo for her BF's niece's Bday party. It's warm in the sun. Thankfully.
Me and the boys are going to spend the day watching scifi channel and playing video games. I feel a nap coming on in about 30 minutes.

Yes Lily. We have the Valentines Day thread that Karl started. Today is Valentines Day making it a daily thread.

He just started it way early because well, he can because he is so much further ahead of us.

But I can see what you mean now.

SS is learning fractions so I had him sit down with a recipe and and double it. He had to write out all the directions. Real life applications...

No, I haven't. I will look it up. Thanks Lily! He really struggles in math and I think sometimes it helps when you realize the things you learn will have real life application. It makes it not so hard to sit there if you know you'll actually need it one day. DH does all his homework with him but I try to take the stuff he is learning and apply it to real life. We tag team kind of. He's learning shapes now too. Cylinders, squares, circles, trapezoids, and on and on for math. So I will ask him to get out the cylinder of oatmeal or the rectangle of cereal.

I remember doing area and circumference and that stuff. I couldn't believe how much of it stuck when I needed it for drafting class.

I think it's helpful to realize you will use this stuff. I wish I realized that. I would have paid attention more.

We are back from looking at houses. Good news is the Realtor thinks our house will sell fast and for more than we thought it would. He thinks we better wait to list it until we find something we like to move into so we are not rushed to find a home.
Unfortunately, we did not find anything that we just loved. I found one that I loved the layout and the kitchen was amazing, but the master bath was tiny. With a very small vanity, no storage, and only a shower (no tub). Another was beautiful! But it was built on a freaking hill and the driveway was incredibly steep. With the weather we have here, there would be lots of days that we wouldn't be able to get up it into the garage without sliding right back down.
So, we wait.
Also, DH went to town to pick up lunch while I stayed home, but the restaurant would have given a meal for free if I was there- I guess you just have to share a kiss and get one free. Bummer.
Cooking program done...small crowd, but same amount of prep & clean up. It is alternating between blowing snow (high winds) & partly sunny. I really want to go home & crawl in bed, but DH wants to go out. I don't think DS & Itty bitty can join us.
NAOW, I hope you find a house that you will LOVE to live in and turn into a home. Our long trip is over. I got home at 3 a.m.. I enjoyed my cousins so much! They have lead feet for old men though.. 88 mph... really? I guess when you only see goats and deer, 88 is okay.
DH and I do not have plans for the day. Rest and recovery is about it for us.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and spend it making memories with family or friends.

Oh my gosh. I'm buying a car! They just have to find one the color I want with the options I want 😀
YAY! So what color and options are you getting?
I'm getting a black Chevy Equinox. My big things were all-wheel drive, heated seats and remote start. I also wanted cloth instead of leather. Which has been the problem for them to find. He's still looking
