How are you doing, Blankie? Ugh.

I'll second that ugh. All 3-day holiday weekend doing snow removal and clean-up at my house and my parents'. Ice dams and leaking interior. We're all exhausted.

Thankfully DH knew what to do and DS and I helped also. Roof is all raked and ice dams broken up, we got the leak stopped. So no more interior damage happening. But we'll probably have to rip up at least one wall, dry it out, re-insulate and re-board. That's minor compared to what some folks I know are up against, so I'm counting my blessings.

And I'd rather have that than your 3-hour commute. Public transportation is a nightmare with all this snow. I feel for you. I am lucky that I can drive to work.

Stay warm!

Ugh, those ice dams!  Work is hell.  Dying here.

I keep sending good thoughts your way. I hope it helps even just a little bit.

Thanks.  Just cancelled a dentist appointment. Work is brutal.  Taking a morning off is not an option.

Functional boots are a must have with as much snow as you all have. no

What did you all do to deserve the big dump?

How on earth did you manage to sew straight for a whole quilt???? One small pass at a time is about all I'm good for! Truth be told, I am not much better on my machine, but I am learning!

I still have hoops. Big hoops, medium hoops, oval hoops and small hoops. I loved my oval hoop the best and it is big!

It's hard to believe I used to whip that thing around all the time. no

Bad memories, from using a hoop.cry

My Babci was teaching us embroidery.

It was Summer. I was wearing shorts. I was six years old.

I embroidered my dish cloth, to my shorts.furious

I had to rip it all out, and start, all over again.

The next day. Babci was a bitch. But, she didn't make me do it over, that day.

Bless her heart.

Mine are all wooden and big. Two round or oval shapes (think a holahoop, but not that big), the outer set has a skrew set to tighten. You place the material over the inner hoop, lay the outer hoop over, press until it fits tight and tighten the skrew. The material stays tight and in place so you can stitch.

Embroidery hoops are a smaller version of quilting hoops.

We got an inch last night. Roads are fine, but the sun shining on the salt covering my windshield made it nearly impossible to see.

Note: I am not complaining!
