They are doing wonderful!!! My 2 year old gd is so much fun and we played blocks, painted pictures, read books and all kinds of stuff. She loves to wear dresses and jewelry. She would wave to people and she loves her little sister. She always have to give her kisses and wants to hug her. The baby came a little earlier then we thought but the baby is perfect and she is so sweet, cuddley and so adorable it was hard to put her down.
I decided I'm going back again before their two year contract is over. I don't think I can wait that long. Thank you all for asking. Grandkids are great.

Sounds like the perfect visit!
Start saving for the next trip as soon as possible!! You will not regret it.

DS sent me a video of his son laughing. He's 3 1/2 months old now and laughs so easily already. I've watched the video 5 times already.
I'm going to have to make another road trip soon. (sigh)

Czech, have you thought about skype or facetime? You can do that between visits and it sure helped my gd know who we are when we come to visit.
Good ideas, Lindley. We have tried using ooVoo, but can't get it to work for us. DS doesn't have facetime on his android or Skype. Hopefully we can get something figured out someday.
We both set up ooVoo and neither of us can get it to work. Frustrating to say the least.

I downloaded it online - you have to have it on your computer before your phone (I don't know why . . . ) but now that I think about it, I don't know if Viber has video. It must . . . ?

DS doesn't have a computer, only his android and a kindle.
I need to find something that's compatable with an iPhone and an android. I'm not smart enough to figure it out, darn it.

Spent another day at the hospital. At least today I took my computer and was able to work on a website for someone because I won't be getting paid for my regular job for this week.
My mom is doing a little better as far as her left hand. Physical therapy showed her how to position her hand so she can open her thumb and index finger. The other fingers aren't working though. Also, her short term memory is really bad. Today she was more awake and less disoriented. They are talking about sending her to long term rehab in Sioux City early next week if they get her blood pressure down and her blood sugars to a normal level. The doctor came in while we were in the cafeteria and showed us her MRI and we mentioned to him that she drinks a lot. He was shocked, and said she had told him she only drinks a drink here and there. In reality, she makes quadruple strength vodka 7's and drinks about 4 of them a night, so conservatively the equivalent to 12 -16 drinks a night. He said that makes a lot of things make more sense. So hopefully he will tell her she needs to stop. I told my dad at least he will be able to control it for her once she comes home, because she most likely won't be doing the shopping for a long time.
We were talking to her about the long term rehab and she said "well, what if I don't want to!?" We told her she doesn't have a choice. I don't think she fully grasps how serious it is, and while yes, she feels fine and is doing well under the circumstances, she had a major stroke and has severe damage to her left side. It could get ugly.

Viber is great, I find it better than Skype. There must be a way to download it to your droid without using a computer. Not everyone has a computer these days. FB also has a video chat option.

I feel so sorry for your mother TLC, and you and your family too! Tough situation.

Tango. It can be downloaded to both droid and iphones, and computers. Much better than Skype.

Thanks everyone. Actually, at this point I'm not upset about it. I'm sort of like "well, you haven't controlled your diet, exercise, diabetes of blood pressure, so this is what happens and now we need to just deal with it". I'm actually mad at her for not trying harder and constantly making excuses why she can't exercise or justifying why she can drink Vodka, etc. Now we just need to make sure she can be functional.
