Thought I would start this idea early and give everyone a chance to think of something kind to do for someone else.

I know I am making chili tomorrow, so I plan on taking a big bowl over to an elderly neighbor down the street. I noticed she has not been getting out much during all these cold snaps and I know she would love some company. She's in her mid 70's and has a hard time getting around.

I would like to hear of any and all good deeds for the day. smile That's IF you want to share. smile

LOL. Well, now you have time to think. That was my point, giving everyone a little time to think of something if they choose. wink

I think I'll be kind enough to not think people are totally stupid and the world would be better off without them. I'll upgrade to, They can't help it if they're ignorant.

Nice idea, Czech. Good idea that you're giving folks lots of time to think, appears that some may need it.  evileye

If by some you mean me then oh well. I try to be nice to people generally on a daily basis and I think it takes the niceness out of it by announcing to everyone you have been nice. So sorry I don't fit the standards.

When I do something kind for someone, I don't wish to post about it.  I prefer to go unacknowledged.  Being kind is something I strive to do in my daily life.  I will do a kindness, but not share it or let others know.  I just let it go.  I feel like I am tooting my own horn by mentioning it, and I do not wish to be seen as that "guess what kind act I did today for ______" person.  I am also a very humble being, and as long as I know I did something kind, that is good enough for me.  No need to share it with the world.

If others wish to share, I have no problem with that.  smile

This is how I feel.  It kind of takes the kindness out of it if you have to tell everyone you did it.  But that's me.

I don't know if I have the strength to go out of my way to be kind today. Have to snow blow again. Boston is changing a lot of its streets to one ways, its the only way to get cars to move since the streets are no longer wide enough for two cars to pass. So if you are coming to Boston, leave your GPS at home.

My kindness will come on Saturday. My church runs the local coffee shop. The guy that works there is a volunteer and only gets paid tips. He lost his leg in a car accident a year ago and is on disability. When I'm there, I slip a ten in the tip jar. I can afford it and I know he needs it.

I have to sneak it in when he's not looking and deny any knowledge of it lol. I've offered help, but he always refuses. So this is how I've found to do it

I like reading others good deeds too. I do little things for people all the time. I don't do them so I can run out and tell people about them. I do them because I like to see other people happy. I know that sharing those stories spreads the joy even further.

I like this thread because it focuses on kindness.

There's way too much of the other stuff around.

It's good to hear the good stuff.

They say what we focus on grows. I believe that.

Good morning! Great idea for a thread! Regardless of whether people choose to post about their kindness, I hope it inspires them to go out in the world a spread a little.

It's 15 here.  Kids are both home sick.  Baby J has caught the Bronchitis from DD10 and woke up in the night with a fever of 104.5.  She was surprisingly alert, coming to get me to get her a drink.  When I was tucking her back in, I felt the burning heat.  Geesh.  I hope the doctor will call her in an antibiotic without going in since she just saw her sister.  It's too cold out to be taking kids with bronchitis out.

It's -10 here. With the windchill it's about -30 they said. The weather guy said this is the last deep chill before spring. The first week of March it's supposed to get up to 30 and not look back. He had better be right. Lol. Although 30 is still technically below freezing, it would be a 40 degree temp swing, and if you account for windchill, it would be 60 degrees warmer than we are now!

Wow, that's a high fever for a 3 year old!

I always worried about the cold air causing bronchial spasms when our kids were sick. Sick little ones is so scary! Hope she gets better soon.

I'm glad you strive to be kind in your daily life. And, you are right, we don't need to post about our kindness to others. It is nice to share on rare occasions and inspire someone else.
