Oy! I hope it misses you, NJN.

I feel terrible for the folks stuck out on the highways. God only knows how long it will take them to get home.

Stay warm and safe! (Do what I'm doing. Hiding in the house!wink

Well, all we have to do today is fetch SS from school. Then we can stay home until it passes.

Good day Ya'll.

Had some things I had to do today. (Yes. I had to put a bra on)

Finally home and getting ready to settle in for the weekend.

I am curious about what ticked LL off too.

Our snow is just about gone. Roads are all but completely dry.

Expect thunderstorms Sunday.

Hope everyone stays warm and safe.

NJN, that is really sad about the coworker. sorry to hear that.

DD received a birthday invitation for a party on Sunday. It's at a place similar to Chuck E Cheese, and on the invitation it says kids will receive 10 tokens and pizza and cake. Does that sound right? They will blow through 10 tokens in less than 10 minutes. I wonder what else they will do for entertainment.

Anything else is on the parents.

If it is like CEC, 10 gets 10 games. That's pretty good.

Whatever tickets they get from the games will be their favors.

Sounds bout right to me.

Our snow is still falling. Lighter, but, still coming down.

The birds have put the word out, "PARTY ON PAULA'S PATIO!" biggrin

I open the door, and throw down bird feed, for the poor birds.cry

My cats, sit at the windows, and watch. You've heard of HGTV? Well, this is CAT TV! Watch the birds eat, with tails twitching!wink No electricity, or cable, needed.biggrin

Now, Wayne and Jupiter, running into a couple of coyotes this morning, gave me cause, for pause.

Wayne walks Jupiter at 4:30am. They saw two coyotes, running down the road, a couple of blocks, from our house. They ran right past Wayne and Jupiter.)

Jupiter never said a word. (Not like her, she will bark her head off, at little dogs, or dogs she isn't friends with.)

I really didn't think we still had coyotes, in the neighborhood.confuse

Gosh, I'm surprised. I kept the cats in, all day.

Can coyotes jump a 6 foot fence? Our cats only roam our fenced, back yard.

The smallest birthday package gives 30 tokens though.

I don't think we are going to go. It's too short notice and that just rubs me the wrong way, buy a present for the birthday girl and have to buy tokens?

It's dumb. Yesterday, I discovered several issues with misfiling which annoyed me to no end - I can't get into detail, but some filing apparently got lost in the mail and nobody has questioned it for 10 months - the office manager came to me to tell me a check was still outstanding on the file from last April, and NO ONE brought this to my attention before now even though it is their job to monitor the recording and the bank accounts and question anything outstanding. So, that's one issue and pretty serious because those original documents could be anywhere at this point. And when I opened that file I found some papers in there that didn't belong - they went to another file and they needed to be filed correctly and I handed them to "P" and told her to file them in the clients actual file - I told her the name, and told her to have "W" get her the file, she had filed it away. She comes back and says they can't find it, is it still in my office and I told her "No, it is not. I gave it to "W" to close - it should be in the file room. I tell her the client's name again, then tell her that maybe "W" put it with the client's company files, and told her the names of the companies. Apparently, they still didn't find it.

So, this morning, I come in to a printed sign on my door about my office being the Black Hole of missing files because they found it in my filing cabinet. Except they DIDN'T - they found one of his other company files in there. In fact - there was NOTHING in that file b/c it's just a general file for client contact information and to stick anything minor that comes in related to that client that doesn't warrant it's own file. So, I was pissed off because 1) - they went through my office looking for a file I told them I did not have, and 2) because the file was exactly where I said it was - I went back and got the damn thing myself. "W" said "P" didn't tell me it was for THAT client. Well, what the F did she say???

They just said they were trying to be funny. I did not find it funny, not after the file screw-ups I discovered yesterday. If you want to be funny, try being right, first.

Coyotes are everywhere.

And they roam large areas. So this sighting may be the last for a while but then you will see them again another time.

Just wait till you hear them announce a kill. It'll make your hair stand on end.

Wow FWM, I do feel sorry for you people in the warmer regions when you have storms like that. No way you people can handle it, you just don't have the equipment.

I had a GC to Whole Foods so I went there this morning. The prices are ridiculous so I don't shop there. I bought about 9 items and it cost $58. I almost laughed. I don't understand how these stores stay in business. Had I bought the things at my regular store it wouldn't have been more than $40. DD and I are going to the mall in a bit so she can use her GCs she has from xmas and her bday.

Okay, figured it out...

GC = Gift Card

My sentiments exactly. Probably because I have a lot less time to peruse the board than most. That one daily thread really worked well for me.

Oh well, I guess I'm in the minority.

I think the days of one daily thread may be over.

No, the smallest package is specifically 30 tokens per kid. There is a 6 kid minimum for parties there. Oh well, we have too much going on anyway. I just thought it was odd.

I think the daily threads for the same day should be merged automatically.

And it doesn't matter who starts the thread.

Excuse me?  I NEVER started more than one daily.  EVER.  The multiple dailies were started by people who felt I was hogging the daily so they made more than one daily so they could say they started it.  Then someone decided to start their own daily.  I think one is plenty.  I really don't understand why we have to have so many other than just to be able to say you started it.

The smallest package includes 30 tokens total.

That is 10 for 3 kids.

They generally have a little "show" too.

I don't think it is cheap or anything.

But I wouldn't go because I have done my time at CEC and I don't ever want to go back.

No, the smallest package is specifically 30 tokens per kid. There is a 6 kid minimum for parties there. Oh well, we have too much going on anyway. I just thought it was odd.

They are probably saving tokens for their kid (s).  A bday party that costs me more than a gift?  Yeah I wouldn't go.

I don't think about that. If I or the kids want to go to the bday party, they go. For us, it is about celebrating with the person and enjoying their company.

My deciding factors are more about distance and time and if I have anything else that day that would interfere.

But just because we can, should we ; )

Oh don't get NJN started on that!  Yep all the dailies are annoying and take away from their original intent.  But oh well, I guess some  like it.

You can close my daily LL. I really only started it to say how good it felt to be able to chat after all my lurking on GT. It was fun to see the daily war but it has gotten out of hand.

Those parties are expensive though if the party goers have to pay for the tokens.  I just think some parents today want to throw their kids parties at places where they can't possibly afford to host a party.

Although with all the hard feelings about starting the dailies I see it wasn't a good idea.

You  need to check your facts.  I NEVER started multiple dailies.  A lot of people didn't like the dailies I started so they started new ones.

They are not expensive. You get 4 tokens for a dollar. Most give bonus tokens. $5 will get $6 dollars of tokens. $10 gets $15 dollars of tokens.

And you can get free tokens and discounts on bulk tokens with the e-club things.

I mean I guess if could if you plan on being there for hours and hours. But most of the time people are leaving after a couple hours.

I use to get coupons all the time for a large pizza, 4 drinks and 100 tokens for like 30 bucks.

And even coupons for free tokens.

I don't like going to those places anymore because of the chaos.
