New complex.

We would stay in our current complex but new owners took over 7ish months ago and they've done nothing but run the complex into the ground. I've been noticing that the complex seems much emptier and found out why when we checked about upgrading to a bigger apartment here. They're charging luxury rents for middle-of-the-road apartments. I was bad - I snorted when the leasing agent told us how much the 2 bedrooms are - over $800. There's a true luxury complex 3-4 miles from here that is $840 for a 2 bedroom with washer/dryer in unit. Our complex doesn't have w/d in unit. It did have a nice laundry room but that has slowly declined too. Broken machines are not getting fixed.

Want a laugh? Rather than fixing issues that are a problem now (like the laundry room), they've spent the last month sprucing up the pool area ... that won't be used until at least mid-May, if not June.

Nope but the laundry room is kitty corner to our apartment so not too bad.

We looked at one that had a w/d in unit that was a good price and good area but too many red flags went off. The biggest being that the leasing agent just gave us the key to the "model" apartment - no ID, no taking of names, just 'here's the key, apartment is that way'. I have never visited a potential complex and not had to present ID to look at the model unit nor have I ever been unescorted to said unit.

Oh, they don't ask for ID here but they will walk you to the unit. And we don't really have model units. Mostly just empty units.

 At least they walk you. I'd love to know if that complex ever had a theft problem from just giving out the key so cavalierly.

The model units here are sometimes just empty units. I prefer seeing those so I can get a better feel for the space.

Way back when I was looking for my very first apartment, I found one that had carpet in the kitchen. I've never seen something so stupid.

Neither would I. Can you imagine all the stains?

They are pulling the carpet out, of a 1970's house! And putting in tile! Hell, no one in their right mind would carpet a bathroom!

What those people were thinking about, back then. I don't want to know.

You never know what people will come up with these days. I've seen some weird things in houses. 

I thought she had till the end of march.

We're in the go through and purge part. There won't be much furniture to move, thankfully. My Grandma wants to get a new couch and we like her couch so we're taking her old couch and selling ours. I like our couch set but her couch has a chaise on one end and a recliner on the other so it wins.

I want to do pottery! When I was a kid my mother always made the kids choose an activity for the summer. The city would have a list of activities they offered at the school for a small fee. We would pick ceramics. We had our own tools and everything. It was so much fun.

I did not crate the dog last night. And he did not poo in the house overnight. I do believe the long walk I took him on yesterday helped to get him back into a routine. Today and tomorrow is supposed to be in the 20's and sunny do he will get long walks.
