Had a closing today, the seller is moving to Texas.  I said that if I ever moved to Texas, it would be Waco, and I'd have Joanna and Chip Gaines find me a fixer upper!  That would be so fun!

Anybody else watch that show?

I love that show. They are the nicest couple on tv. You can feel the love when they look at each other.

I LOVE that show! It is one of my faves on HGTV.

I just wish they would decorate with some of the couple's things instead of all new items that don't have any meaning or history behind them, KWIM? Maybe after the cameras leave, they put some of the family's items in the house.

But I love her taste.

Yes, that part bothers me, too.

Plus, and not just Joanna, it seems like all of the designers on HGTV put in way too much stuff, for my taste.

I like to keep things simple. I'd rather have too little, than too much.

Such a nice family. I get sick of the shows where it's drama all the time but these two work so well together and they have the cutest kids.

I am sure they get compensated for the items they show in the new rooms so they try and cram as much in as possible. Lol

I have certain items that have been in every house we have lived in, that's how I know we are home. Everyone has items like that. Without those items in the show, it feels sterile and like a museum. I want to see people's quirky items!

I've never seen it. I OD'd on HGTV & haven't watched in over a year. I was truly addicted for about 6 years.

Well.  You are missing out.  Love it or List it, Property Brothers, and Fixer-Upper are my current favorites.

The people haven't moved in, yet. I'm sure some of that gets supplemented and swapped out for personal items.

I don't know if I have seen this show but I have seen the other shows like it.

I like them. Property brothers are just too cute for their own good.

But I can only watch it in moderation. I start getting ideas.

I do like watching the house hunter shows. I like seeing what a 3 bedroom in Kansas costs compared to a 3 bedroom in Alaska.

Love it or List it & Property Brothers were part of my addiction as well as Candace, Genevieve & Holmes!  I also like Property Virgins & Carter Oosterhouse.  I had a serious love of that channel.

Use to love Extreme Makeover. But it got to be a big ol slobberfest.

And I realized I was only watching to see that Ty guy.

I heard that most of those families lost their houses after that show.

One thing that drives me crazy, though, on all the shows is when they walk into a room and go "We'd rip all this out to lighten it up" and I find myself hoping they don't buy that house and do that b/c the walls are beautiful mahogany, with built in library shelves and beautiful old fireplace. Just because it's old doesn't mean it needs to be replaced!

That's why I generally like Nicole Curtis. She tends to keep the character in the homes she does and doesn't try to plunk a new house inside an old one. If you want a new build, go buy one. Don't stick it inside an old house with so much character.

Yes, I love that about her, too.  Except sometimes she takes it too far in the other extreme.  Sorry, but broken bathroom tiles are not work saving - especially when they are just white subway tiles.

I agree. Or she will paint the stained tiles behind the toilet - barf!

There is actually a huge controversy with her right now in the Twin Cities. She was advocating for a house to be saved from demolition. I think there was going to be new construction in the area and they needed the room. It was run down and abandoned. Well, she went on FB and lambasted the councilwoman from that district - called her a whore and all kinds of other awful words, just because she voted for new construction. All of Nicole's FB fans joined in, with all kinds of violent threats, disgusting remarks, etc, and Nicole hasn't discouraged them at all. I have lost a lot of respect for her over this issue. I understand her passion, but she stooped pretty low -- what about winning more flies with honey? The mayor is now mad at her too so she isnt helping her cause for future homes if no one wants to work with her.

Like Wow! Really?

MM, do you have any articles to post? I hadn't heard that.confuse

Wayne doesn't believe she's for real. If he walks in, while I'm watching her show, He mutters, "Twinkie Bitch", under his breath, and walks out.

I like her, for the most part.

Wayne can't stand her.

Go to her Facebook page and read the comments. Since the original post, she has edited her comments and also added a disclaimer about people not making threats. But this was all done after the mayor called Nicole out on her own page.
