After reading the article and then scrolling back up to it, it was blue and gold or brown.
I believe it is an iridescent fabric. And can be what ever our brain is thinking it is.

They tracked down the dress. The news station I was watching.
It is royal blue with black lace.
Everything else is a play on lighting.

First, there is no white visible. It could look like pale blue if there's a blue light shining on it, but in this picture, there's no white.
"It’s the question on everyone’s lips – just what color is that dress? White and gold or blue and black?"
Whether the second color is "gold" or "beige" or another shade of brown doesn't matter.
Both options are wrong. So the only correct answer to the questions seems to be "NO".
ed - there are other pictures where it is white. We are not all crazy.
Yes, there are other pictures.
Maybe there are three dresses.
In the one where it looks like it's blue and brown, there is a lot of white showing around and behind the model. Possibly (probably) there is a blue light shining on the model that doesn't affect the background. Or maybe there are three dresses.
I was saying blue and brown because THAT'S what showed in the picture.
AND the black cat is very pretty.

I've seen both colors. Same picture but different times that I looked at it.
Same here. Like those 3-D paintings you eventually see the boat. For me the large picture here is hard to see the blue/black because of the bright right side of the picture. I f I block the right side I can see the blue/black.
