I don't remember having this thread. The kitchen is cute. I like it but I wouldn't want it.

Yellow was big in the 50s, too. Pink is fun, but I just can't see it as a kitchen color - probably would have been in my bathroom, though, because I do like pink. My favorite color combo is the turquoise and red - in everything. Honey's mom bought me the most BEAUTIFUL red and turquoise scarf for Secret Santa.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
I think the point is, it was finished and then never used.
Like finding a box you put away and forgot about the brand new shirt that was in it.
I didn't like Friends either. Still don't.
Dot like Seinfield. Both got on my nerves. The people were just too whinny.

I had this exact floor in a house I once lived in.

If I could design the perfect kitchen, it would be a lot like my grandma's kitchen. But have elements of other kitchens I have liked.
She had a very practical farm kitchen.
It was white. The floor was wood. I don't remember a curtain on the windows in there. Of course she lived on a farm and no one around to need curtains.
I want it very rustic.
I want butcher block counter tops. One grandmother had a butcher block table in the middle of her kitchen. She used it for everything. I loved it.
Grandmother had a huge farm sink. It was all enamel and in a lightening storm, lightening would dance around it. So of course I would want another but I do want a big farm sink.
And I would love open cupboards. The ones with the mesh over them. I love those.
And at one end there would be a big working hearth. One that has a baking box. I love those. And swing arm for cooking over the fire.
I want the modern appliances but I want them to look as old as possible. Have the look like they were used generations ago.
I love the fridges with the wood fronts. And the stoves that look like old wood stoves.
And miss matched chairs around the table is a must but the also have to "go together".
