I was living in Indiana when they started to observe DST. My sister and I found it hilarious. There were special news reports about how to deal with the switch, how traffic would be effect, how your kids would be effected etc. growing up with DST, we were thinking, really?! It's not that big of a deal

I do miss not having the switch. I think it's silly and antiquated

Honest answer is - I don't bother with the smoke alarm batteries. The maintenance team checks the smoke alarms when they do their biannual inspection.

When we get a house, we'll do monthly checks. I already do monthly fluid and light checks on my truck so it will be easy enough to add one more thing to the day.

You're only supposed to set them ahead ONE hour, not a few hours. Although if you have a few clocks, then that would be a few hours, at one per clock. smile

I set my clocks one hour ahead almost as soon as I got home from work on Saturday, trying to fool myself into being ready for bed an hour earlier. Seemed to work (though it could have been the beer!)

Do you change the clock in your car? I don't, I figure I know when it's an hour off.

I don't change the clock in my car. The next time I have an oil change, the mechanic will change it. I think he is a bit OCD. Works for me!

I usually forget about the clock in the car and will notice in a week or so. I'm used to going to work at about the same time every day, I look at the minutes on the clock, not even noticing the hour. I'll do a double take in a week or two

Cablevision always gets screwy with this.

Setting up timer recordings, when I set it to start at 10:30 tomorrow morning, it switched it to 11:30. They might fix this in a couple of days  --- or not.
